I can relate to this poem, it's as if you know my story. I've been living with pain for many years, and some days are unbearable. Then, all of a sudden I can walk with relative ease...I can't explain it. Maybe it's God's intervention. Thanks for sharing this poem. :)

I think when we have ill health and have felt the pain of it, we appreciate being pain free and should count our blessings when we can walk about and be agile, I can identify with your words Joyce, love Dolly x

Joy, I know pain. I've had spinal stenosis for many years. with med, I am able to walk a very short distance, but not without pain. The "abundant life" Jesus is talking about is His life in you, the believer in Him, not life without pain or trials. He also said, "In the world you will have tribulation, be of good cheer I have overcome the world." The joy of life is not a painless life; it is a Jesus life,

    Hello GE Parson,
I sorry for your painful days. I looked up the description of "spinal stenosis" and it's not something anyone would want. You are so right God's Holy Word said we will have trials and tribulations, but yes be of good cheer. I love how you put, "the joy of life is not a painless life; it is a Jesus life. I will pray for you. I have a prayer book and I will add your name to pray for less pain for you. Stay faithful to God's Word and He will reward you better than you can imagine. May God's blessings follow you wherever you go. Always try to smile if you can. I know I always feel better when I do?. Stay safe and have a Merry Christmas.

Thank you Joy, that is so sweet of you.
I try to keep a smile in my heart and my face, and it DOES help get thru painful days. I'm going to send you an article written by my Preacher son to me.

You are welcome. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful heartfelt message from your son. He loves you, more importantly, you love him. God in His own way loves us. Stay Faithful. Merry Christmas and I pray with little or maybe no pain. God bless you richly. Keep smiling:-)

If this is a true story, I hope you have many more pain free days. Have you checked to see if you ate something special the day before that might have helped along with your prayers? I have heard peppers help--like maybe in your hot Sauce. This is a lovely poem and well written.

    Roof35,
Thank you kindly for this review, rating and honest comments. It's a true story about a beautiful kind friend of mine. Although, I love hot sauce. Now, I eat it in moderation. Have a beautiful Christmas and a Happy 2021.

I'm so glad that you are pain free. If we have a painful life we can thank our God, but we also need to thank the doctors who treat us. It certainly is no fun to live in pain day in and out!

Thank you kindly for your review, rating and honest comments. I had a good friend in mind when I wrote this poem. We both pray a lot. I concur, we should thank the doctors and nurses for their service. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. All the best in 2021!!

Joyce,

I totally understand what you mean. *smile* I know I shouldn't compare my issues to anyone else's, but I have Chronic Daily Migraine. Which means I have some form of a headache every day, for some varied amount of the day. It gets reallllly frustrating - though I often think it's weird how I've come to just expect it and move on, you know?

They don't send me to bed as often these days and I am thankful for that small favor, but they do interrupt the quality of life pretty frequently.

The thing is that I won't complain - there are so many people in far worse shape than myself. I agonize for those folks. And obviously, pray a lot. I'm glad that you have good, happy days. *smile*

This poem had a lovely message - a good wake-up- and-think-about-things message. I do wish the meter and scansion had been a bit more consistent, but sometimes we just write what's on our heart. I get that. Here's to a New Year filled with joy for you and much less pain. Thanks!

Thanks for your review, rating and honest comments. Yes, I did write what was on my heart. How could the meter and scansion improve the consistent in my poem. Always open to learn more to improve my poetry. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas. Stay safe.

A very good philosophy to live by. When we get up each day we choose joy or worry. What a peace to know that God is with us and leading us. He said, "In everything give thanks, and as we do so He gives us joy.

Like a Thief in the night.
Mr Pain comes to visit a lot of people.
He may come while you're sleeping and sprinkle Miss Misery.
Or perhaps I'll come with his cousin, Depression?
...
At my age of 66 every morning I wake up it's a blessing of course and yes it's a gift and it requires a return.
I do realize that he is giving us so much for free such as the clean air to clean water and the food that we consume.
...
Of course there's never room to feel severity choking pain no matter how hard or for what reason.
but as human beings unfortunately from that very first scratch on the knee?
Well written and thank you.

What a glorious way to begin everyday. Focusing on the Lord and the many blessings we have. I am thankful everyday for all I have in my life thanks to the Lord. Prayer alone is a blessing for it brings me closer to our father.
