Well, you are quite sarcastic. However, this pandemic has been quite depressive. Clearly written. Good visual imagery's created. Good flow of rhythm and rhymes. Nicely done.

Stay healthy, safe and strong. Happy 2021 :)

hi

Okay as a poem it is very good. As always you have a great use of rythm and rhyme. It reads so easily.
I don't usually say much about content, but... it's hard hitting and light, a great combination when getting a point across.

As i say...if you don't liek wearing a mask, you're going to hate a ventalator!

Stay safe over there, hold the bubble...

The penultimate sentence of this review is splendid and totally unanswerable. Splendid! Thanks for this six star review.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to the tongue-in-cheek lyricist! It's always commendable to take a positive approach to upheaval. Great job! I'm laughing. I did sing it, and it is pretty funny :).
Cheers!

Many thanks for this review. Line 28 is a play on words. Uk is is now divided into tiers 1 has virtually no restrictions. Tier 4 you are under house arrest. so its all ending in tears or tiers for us whichever way you look at it.

This was great Jim, and all to the tune of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. You definitely pin pointed all the problems with Covid-19, perhaps one day we will be able to remember the horrid time and even laugh about that time. Hope you had a great Happy Christmas and will have a wonderful, amazingly Happy New Year for 2021, blessings Alie

Thank you for this splendid review of my parody. I managed to enjoy my Christmas with Al K. Hall who kept me company - in high spirits.

A very well-written poem/song and a unique way to look at the coronavirus that has all of us in fear of contracting the virus and rather stay at home and have no contact with family members.

Ha ha ha, I feel for you with this latest invention 'Tier Four'. Whatever will they think of next! My question is, does it work? We have no idea of the real figures and a lot is kept hidden from us, we are given information on a need to know basis and the Government does not think we need to know! I don't expect the latest restrictions will affect you much and you can still shop and walk your dogs and with the cold weather it is not much fun going out with grey skies, but nevertheless it was always good to meet a friend to break the monotony. Your poem is powerful and hard hitting, I hope you have a great week this week and Happy New Year to you Jim, love Christine x x x

And sing on ....

That is really very good,
Every verse well understood.
Rhythm, rhyme and phrasing too,
Everything well done by you.
Thanks for cheering us, dear P.
You're experienced I can see.

Thank you for sharing this here! Your natural sense for meter and your own music playing days all contribute to creating lyrics that fit the tune so perfectly. And the message is absolutely an important one!

I love it when you emailed me this poem. It is sarcastic with a whimsical tune. It made me sad and want to laugh at the same time.

England seems to have a new wave of a newly muted virus. Bad luck.

I'm lucky to be able to drive north to Lake Superior. We rented a very nice condo on the lake and have been skiing everyday so far. We will be here until 12/29. The temperature is not too cold and the view is incredible.

Laughing at what frightens us is an old British tradition found in folk song fro the time of the plague (ring a Ring of Roses) through Napoleon (Boney Was a Warrior) to Hitler (Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mister Hitler), so why not Covid-19??

Poor Mendelssohn, Wesley and Whitefield. This hymn has been bastardised so many times ???. This is clever and (sadly) very relevant. AS kids we sang a version called HARK THE HAIR-LIPPED ANGELS SING. Why God didn't strike us dead beggars belief. DJ

Ha ha ha! Perhaps because He can't or perhaps because He had a sense of humour. We got away with While Shepherds Washed their Socks by Night as kids too.
