This is one Hectic poem, Dolly. Yet, I think you are trying to tell us not to waste time cause there is little left of it. You may be right and Que sera, sera. We are only the ones that feel it, no one wants to believe in it, but time will stop one day for everyone. This is one true entry for the 20 Line Poem Contest. Thank you for sharing.

How cool that you wrote five stanzas and something that can be hectic is the rush of time. Lots of good advice and various metaphors. Hope you do well in the contest.

With my American accent, I found "with vigour and with new designing," didn't have the trochee in the beginning and it has 9 syllables. I don't know if that's intentional.

Anyway, I just ordered your book! Again, Amazon made it really hard to find the book by your name but found it by title.

Lovely artwork. Time is a tyrant. You have some great suggestions for winning out over time. Writing, studying nature, praying--all are excellent suggestions for rewarding ways to make use of time. Time is a tyrant as you say. It is relentless. Even when we ask for a timeout, it keeps moving and we keep getting pulled along. Time does have its pleasures as you point out in stanzas three and four.
