"until the truth sucks lies out with its thirst." That's powerful, Dolly. Well rounded piece depicting current political situation, but not overtly. Fabulous matching artwork and colors are amazing!
Well done!
Lucy

This is a powerful cautionary tale. Too many countries are facing this unrest. I just heard a presentation that hits it all right on the nose. It was about the conjunction of planets at this time causing unruly unrest. It says things will calm down eventually. Maybe there's hope the tyrants will fade in power.

Well done Dolly. I was very impressed with how you were able to poetically articulate the diabolical nature of dictators, that they are vicious savages who take delight in bringing the wrath's of Hell to their own citizens. Great work.

Therehave as long as man has been on this planet been those who are tyrants. You see when someone gains powers that power corrupts. Neither the left or the right have clean hands in this matter.

Wow, this was fantastic, Dolly. It perfectly described a tyrant who needs to over power someone, in fact many some ones. There is no joy in what they do, they are just overcome by their greed. Very well done, nice rhyme and a great picture.

A very well-written sonnet about selfish tyrants that will do anything to have power over others and don't give have a conscience of how many dead bodies he leaves behind.

I'm sure that many read this and have assigned it to our current president. He misbehaves, doesn't watch his tongue, but he is not a tyrant. I think of Hitler... Stalin...President Maduro of Venezuela. I googled tyrant and Stalin came up. (He's the winner.) They've killed millions, ruined continents, made bribes with the devil, and lied. I think just about every nation has had a few tyrannical leaders (King Edward 1 was pretty awful) as you have pictured here. Well penned and illustrated as always, dear Dolly. Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs......

Thank you Sally for your review, I was thinking of some evil past tyrants when I wrote this poem, the Russians still love Stalin, but everyone knows that Hitler was a tyrant who caused much loss of life, love Dolly x

When you bring out your sword it cut deep and wide, Dolly. I would hate to be on the receiving end of it. Your discretion of a tyrant is very accurate, "dictating and directing is preferred" by those that wish to conquer. I guess it could be a painted picture of many world leaders.

Thank you for your review, you made me smile here, ha ha ha, you are not the first person to have said that, words are indeed mighty and I try to be careful with them in communication, but some deserve to be exposed as in this case, love Dolly x

There have always been tyrants, whose character you have captured quite well. Their "yes men" (and women) pour fuel on the fire by encouraging dangerous, illegal behavior. The "feathered nest" and "treachery . . . friend" metaphors especially stand out.
