This is an interesting picture and is a perfect match for your poem. It looks like it's struggling but making a valiant effort to survive. Which came first, the picture or the poem? Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Mary. My answer is - a little of both. I began with one idea and a poem, saw this picture and revised it all together.

What a lovely image of one little tree giving its best to stand out amongst the many. Syllable count and rhyme requirements were met. A wonderful entry.

FanStory fantastic, mystery poet! The super short verse poems are tricky, especially when a rhyme is involved. Super great!!

Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming vote,
Sal XOs..

This is a very good entry for the contest. It's hard to create something worthwhile with a 1-6-1 poem when three of the words must rhyme. Your photo and last line really work for you. They help develop your theme that we need to be looking at what we are doing to nature.
Well done.

-Very nice image.
-The syllable count is good,
along with the topic.
-You describe the scene
well and have good rhyme.
-That is a special tree,
"being all it can be!"
-Good luck in the contest.

Trees in my park are many shades of green and now turning brown with the Autumn on the horizon, trees are the sentinels that seem to control the seasons, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
