Hi EM,
I find my muse plays Hide 'n Seek with me. Most times, he's gone for weeks at a time, only showing up for a couple of days. And then he disappears once more. Part of it is my own fault. My wife & I help our son with the baby, Isla. She's so busy, and Luke finds it difficult to be Mr. Mom. We also help with our older granddaughter, Alyssa. I take her to school and pick her up each day. And I also try to keep in shape, walking about 40 miles each month. Along with some housework, I don't have much energy left for my muse.
My favorite lines,
"You are my soul, my poet's core,
without you I'm forever lost."
It's so nice when he shows up, and gives me ideas for writing. I just wish he'd show up more often.
Hugs,
Kimbob

"Muse, come back!", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

EM,
This is a well written plea to your muse to return. It shows that you can be inspired by anything if your muse chooses. Sometimes even your muse needs to go on a vacation to return all ready to let spew words of meaning.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

This is a poem all poets can relate to - every now and then, our muses gi on vacation. And we are left behind without inspiration. They eventually do return. We just need to patiently wait - and not panic or give up!

Lately, I've been reading poems I wrote decades ago; I keep thinking that my recent poems simply aren't as good. My "muse" is still around--but has become less creative, just lazy. Your poem illustrates your muse is still wbispering in your ear. Very descriptive and expressive

This poem certainly suggests your muse has returned. Finely articulated in iambic rhythm and with an abab rhyme scheme that flows off the tongue most pleasingly.

Hello External Muse,
Great title "Muse, come back." I like this poem. It's nothing like wondering where a friend or your Muse has gone. You used great rhythm within your poem. The message was clear and very touching. Your poem is really really beautifully written with great flow. Great story! Well done.
