I'm here picking up where I left off. Woody is smarter than we thought, huh? Good chapter--I'm glad to get back to it, MD!

Woody's no dope, just strictly a by-the-books sort of cop. Ray's edgier. He's more inclined to trust his own instincts.

    Thanks, Tracy!

The "at home with Woody and his family" scene was very enjoyable. It's always nice to learn more about the characters. Can't wait to see who owns that car!

It's weird answering your reviews in reverse order. LOL

I liked this a lot. I liked the change of scene for a moment with the spaniel and her flea and itch problem, and then you work it nicely into the continuation of the story. I thought this all worked together very well. I also like how you know when to end it to intrique the reader. You have me in a spell. I want to know more. You go girl. Didn't notice any problems!

Super! Yes, I think the brief look inside Woody's household gave everyone a little breather. Plus, I have an ulterior motive, but, of course, I can't say what it is.

Thank you, Housemaid ... very much!

Another excellent chapter!

I like this bit of humor inserted into the chapter:

This damned business about Valerie Davis has me pulling my hair out.?

Betty moved to his side and stroked his head. ?Aw, don?t do that. It?s such nice hair; I?m very fond of it.?

A job well done!

Even in the most serious of situations, humor is usually present. I think it's part of what gets us through.

    Thanks very much, Catydid52!

Good morning, Sarah. It's nice to "see" you so bright and early.

    Thank you!

Today has been mad, I had a few minutes before I had to be at my son playschool for photo's. Ended up they were running behind, by an hour when I got there.

Finally I had my slot for Josh and they were then running an hour and forty minutes over.

So I have only been in for a short while, as I then took him to a toddler group in the afternoon.

So now I plan to get a little more reading done tonight.

    Sarah.

Once the children have gone to bed then I will feel calm...lol....

    Not long now....

Ok so here's another idea you have, well you're a lot farther ahead of me. That's only because you know the end and I don't. It's just great keep it up.

Ooooohhhh {{{MARJORIE}}} -- brutal "hook" here at the end...

GREAT write, as always!!!

Not a single word out of place here.

I love the scene with the dog and their son - you really depicted it quite well!

Thanks so much for sharing!

WRITE ON,

Jan

I'll release the next chapter sometime today--as soon as I have enough to promote and make it, at least, a little wothwhile for reviewers. I wish I could read and review faster! LOL

Thanks a million, Jan. You sure do know how to make me feel good!

    Hi Marjorie,

Ha ha ha - I know that one all too well... Not enough to promote works...

Wouldn't it be great if we had several sets of eyes & brains - like peripheral hardware or something (and extra sets of hands too - so that we could hold numerous books at once)? LOL... Ya - a dream of mine.

I'm glad you find my reviews uplifting, as they are meant to be. Your writing is SUPERB - I enjoy every single release!

    Looking forward to more...

He slapped his forehead with the palm of his hand. ?How could I be such an idiot??
*** Good going, Marjorie. It's just what cops do. Noting anything unusual.

I like this section. It personalizes Woody. You should have more of them.

Often, I think cops are treated too one-dimensionally in movies and books. I'm awfully relieved that you liked the glimpse inside his househould. I was afraid it might have seemed to big a diversion.

    Thanks very much, Charlie!

Hey, Marjorie--nice reprieve from all the dying of animals and people. I could just see the dog with his antics--I've had dogs that have done those things with kids. LOL. Well done. You are one good writer for sure and I could find nary a comma out of place in this chapter.

Writing about the dog was easy. My husband and I have had four springer spaniels over our thirty-five years together. Any dog would have done nicely, though.

You're so kind, Rae. Thank you!

    Marjorie

    though.
