This is exquisite and I thank you for telling me about it in your review of my "Wind's Whim" I am very new to reading your work. I don't understand how that's possible, but here I am
now. "flutter and gently sway in time to the soft xylophonic chime of wind-conducted toasts" what a wonderful line this is.
"a soloist whose only band is six thin tubes of metal and
a breezy afternoon" A beautifully visual piece that I adored.

Thank you very much, my friend, for taking the time to read that piece. I love wind chimes, too; not very masculine, though, so don't tell anybody, please. :)

well i was there and i was that girl and the evening smelled of magnolias and citrus trees...there is an apple pie on the window sill the cinnamon drifts the slightest distance before it mixes with the night chill...nice work...yours, diana

Ahh, Marillion, this was just lovely. I wish I had voted in this contest, this one would have been my choice, for its beat, message and rhyme. I love your poems because they are drenched, steeped in deep Southern Comfort. :-)

Take care,
Foxey

David,

One of your usual remarkable contributions
to the world of poetry. How easy I can see
her sitting there knitting and the sound of the
wind chimes so much a part of her afternoon
she barely notices.

wonderful. diane

Delicious as always... it's like a still life in black and white, with just one thread of colour and movement in the windchime, and maybe, the knitting fingers. Minimalist, but not too bare - well, *I* know what I mean.

I enjoyed this poem, I could practically hear the windchimes. I have some outside our window and they relax me. I would not change a thing about the poem, I didn't really notice the change in metre because it just flowed anyway.

You're opening line, caught and held me. You not only painted an image in this, you gave it a "voice". I love wind chimes, and you have captured a bit of their "magic' here, enjoyed this piece it tickled the senses...
