Wonderful ending! Had I know I was this close the end, I would have logged on weeks ago! I can see your problem with classifying this novel. I would say it falls under Sci Fi, but it also whirls around Mystery, Suspense and Crime as well!

I found these two things to comment on:

painful during later stages of development.
The development. (Delete "The Development." - I have no idea what it's doing there... or rather it was intentional!)

"You ask me how dangerous." He pursed his lips. "I'd say it?s no more dangerous than a fall from a high building. The fall won?t kill you, but the landing ....? It was an old line, but it fit. (Perfect line!!!)

I can't believe you've had a problem placing this story. It ends so perfectly set up for the next one. Have you started posting the sequal yet? If so, I'll start digging through my PM box and looking for it. When I logged on I posted something of my own and went straight over to dig out your novel and pick up where I left off. I haven't even looked at any of my other messages! lol!)

Hugs,

Heather

Hmm. I thought I replied, but your review is showing again, Heather. I must not have hit the OK key. Whoops.

I'm ecstatic that you think so highly of this epilogue! It's probably the biggest change I made to the story when I posted here.

I'm hoping this latest revision will see publication eventually. I've got all my body parts crossed ... and it's darned painful!

So far, I've posted the prologue and first four chapters of the sequel, Shadow Tag. If you find the time, I'd love to have your feedback on that, too. No rush.

Your American Soldier piece was fantastic!

I loved this from the beginning to the end and really would love to read more in the next book, to find out the killer of Paul.

I thought the whole book had you guessing and wanting to read on, which to me means a great read.

Sarah.

Paul's murder is definitely solved in the next book. I think it offers a number of twists and turns along the way. Oh, yes ... it would be great having your along for the second novel, too, Sarah. Thanks!

The story was excellent. The twists in the story kept me guessing on the crimes. The way you turned the murder into parasites was I thought brilliant.

Aw, Marjorie--you really have brought Ray to another level as a character. He's been through much and it has changed his life--maybe softened him a little:)
I'm sooo sorry that I missed some of the middle and the end, but know that it was necessary. I have truly enjoyed what I read and feel from what I know that the ending fits the story well--character wise.
I wish you nothing but the best with this book and it's sequel--love and hugs, Mary.

I DO know it was necessary. So, for you to take the time and make the effort to read and review ANY of my chapters is more appreciated and rewarding than you know, Mary!

Know that I wish all the best to you as well ... on ALL levels.

    My love to you,
    Marjorie

Loved it, loved it, loved it! The ending was perfect, because the politicians got hi-jacked! Yippee!

The eaten arm also could lead to another sequel. Maybe it got eaten and the wee insects, once hatched, stayed as adults in the area to lay more eggs. Guess who they got? The predator that ate the arm. Only they have mutated in a short time to something even fiercer, so the ending of this story is the beginning of another.

Your story is great because it CAN have so many unrelated sequels shooting off in separate directions. Now I need to find out about Paul's death, since I don't think for a second he committed suicide. He was too big an egotist for that. So who did it?

What a woman! What a writer! Awesome!

And I almost liked it, too.

Hugs,

Maggie

I'm glad you "almost" liked it, Maggie! LOL This is the icing on the cake because the final chapter is one of the most important in any book. I couldn't be more pleased.

Thank you, Maggie, thank you! I hope you'll help me get through the posting of the sequel!

I think the resolution is six star perfect, but alas, I have none to give. This is better than a high-fluting scientific explaination. Scientists will know what you are talking about other readers should be satisfied and that is sufficient.

Now I am looking forward to the sequel. I think you have a winner in "Dear Crossing,:

I'm so glad you see it that way, Roger. The scientific community wouldn't help, so Woody "winged" it. It was the best he could do, not being a scientist himself.

You've been a great help to me throughout this long chapter-by-chapter submission process. I hope you have some idea how much I appreciate your help and support.

I think I'll take a BRIEF break before beginning to post the sequel. I'd love to receive more of your feedback. It's been great! Thanks very, very much.

We have received some great feedback from you also. I hope to start posting my SiFi novel soon. It is vipus experiment gone awry. The name us "The Happiness Syndrome."

You think Ray and Woody had a problem, my virus spreads like wildfire and afflicted people feel so good that (and happ[) that they don't want treatment. Not only do I think this virus could be made with current biotechnology, Fortunately I also created a cure,

Shades of the Body Snatchers! Good blend of dialog and narrative throughout. I just watched a film where an organism from the space shuttle infects humanity and steals emotion from them. Much like unto a zombie or those in the Body snatchers. And what effect shall your parasite have on humanity. I'll stay tuned. Dave

LOL I'm afraid the good citizens of Widmer took matters in their own hands and eradicated the new species of insect before they could get a firm foothold in their community or elsewhere, Dave. At least that's how I imagine it. This was the epilogue to my novel "Dear" Crossing. The completed sequel picks up right where this one leaves off--with Ray playing catch-up on the Paul Davis case. I promise you here and now, there are NO insects in the sequel. It's a straightforward murder mystery. It concludes the investigation involving Paul Davis's murder and also resolves Ray and Gail's relationship. I hope you will tune in for "Shadow Tag". I'm planning to take a little time off before beginning to post those chapters, but it shouldn't be too long.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Dave. I'm very glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Marjorie.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this book, the colourful characters. The plot has been intruiging from the start..So Paul Davis was murdered..I didn't see that one coming! :)

You have wrapped it up well...leaving an enticing couple of loose ends to work on the sequel.

My naughty side would have been tempted to have one last fling from the insects and have them burst forth from a boil on th emayors neck as he was being interviewed - but then surely he would have had it seen to wouldn't he? LOL

I for one will be interested in the follow up . As for this one when you publish it send me a copy!

David

Well done sweetie.

Oh, publication! Wouldn't that be fantastic. I'm hoping that with all the help I've gotten from you and other super FS reviewers, this more polished version will help my agent place it with a publisher. She's had it for well over a year, and is still trying. She must have faith in it and that counts for a lot!

    David, thanks a million!
