You can sense the fun and imagination in this story. I heard that Florida got snow this winter and so the billboard with the bikini clad girl does have a bit of irony while underneath you are throwing snowballs. The image and details are clear and I can hear the squeals of delight. Good luck with the contest. ann

Tommy and his father were having fun tossing around snowballs. But going to Florida would have been warmer. I believe the billboard said it all.

Carol, i read this a couple of times. Probably just me. Does this mean they are vacationing in Florida and it's snowing, where it's supposed to be sunny? my whole family enjoyed watching captain jack sparrow. nice outing between father and son here. all the best. :)

Yeah, snow in Florida is pretty rare. I bet the snowball fights were epic. I enjoyed reading this terrific story.

Nice little story - It's nice to see a father and son connect.

But there wasn't an conflict in the story. Noting to overcome.

Also I didn't really get the ending. Was it that they could have fun somewhere besides in the warmth?

    douglas,

The contest rules for the micro fiction did not require conflict unless you want to consider they lived in Florida (thus the billboard) and it had snowed ' definitely not an everyday occurence in our southern state. I was required to use the word cannonballs = thus the pirate theme from the movie and the snowballs as ammunition. Thanks for the review...Carol

I understand the rules, but to be a good story it should have some point to overcome.

I missed the fact that they were in Florida, expecting a billboard like that to be in New York advertising Florida.

Very good!! Loved this FF story. You wrote a very creative tight story and stayed in the FF's strict word limitation. I thought you chose a fun subject to write about and gave it a nice twist at the end-who would have thought snow in Florida. Good luck in the contest. Dana

Hullo Carol ...

This certainly is a marked change from your usual, gripping stories but ... I enjoyed it nevertheless.
There is nothing to suggest changing and, as it is a Contest entry, I wish you well. Thank you for sharing it with us.
With love from ... Nanette Mary.

Cute story. You manage to write a complete story in hundred words one with details and interesting dialogue. I like
the ending, and it made me smile when dad and son threw a snowball at the girl on the poster. I don't blame them.

107 words. Loved the animation, Carol. Great flash, nicely told. I enjoyed the fun of it and the twist about it being in Florida. Does it really snow there?

One trivial point:
It read -- 'Welcome to Florida. Come have fun in the sun.'
(Usually quotations from printed matter have the same double quote marks as dialogue:
It read -- "Welcome to Florida. Come have fun in the sun.")
