As an ex-Aussie, I must award this Dreamtime story 5 stars it is such a good read. I have read many of the aboriginal Dreamtime stories, and think they are brilliant because of the sheer simplicity of the narrative, and the depth of meaning. I'm sure many of our writer colleagues out there will enjoy this and look forward to reading more of your writing.

This a beautiful story of Legendary Tales. It is something that kids would enjoy to read. It is not only the story itself but the meaning -- the moral lesson portrayed. The rat which is small, ignored, "incapable" of use finally did a good job. The rat, in the story was the one who discovered where the water came from. Aborigine tales are very common in my country--Philippines, as well as in Asia, the writer, from Australia also cites many folklore stories. This is great and thank you for sharing. Dom

I am sure that many creatures communicate with thoughts and noises other than speech. I have read books by Wilbur Smith that describe the bushmen who use "clicks" to draw attention to what they say by gestures, postures, and words in what we would call a very specialized language (or primitive I guess). The story is priceless.

A great dreamtime story Aussie, I love these legends that explain all with what is found in the natural environment. This was well done, had me entertained.

I wasn't familiar with any of these stories, and I found them very interesting! Thank you for sharing all the information in the author notes. I thought the story had a good action and pace, and you did a good job of describing it well.
