Very well done.

Especially liked your ending:

The physical being is but one part of our trinity of self, consisting of the mind, body and soul. The body masters the art of pleasing, the mind lets go of all inhibition and then the soul is freed to sing as it soars in skies unseen by the veiled eyes of man in body. This is rapture. This is release. This kind of Ecstasy is the Soul's Escape...

The body masters pleasure,,,the mind lets go...the soul soars...!

Yes, I am with you all of the way.

This is a beautiful soul tonic. You have packed a lot of wisdom into this piece. Love and its expression have been explored in a very illuminating manner here. kudos

Wow--a defense of pleasure! In America's puritanical culture, we don't see many celebrations of the senses. (The appeal of porn is that it's "naughty"--it's not really a celebration but just the other side of prudishness.)

I have two editorial suggestions for this piece and beyond.

1) Watch out for run-on sentences. Effective comma use can prevent these.

"How many roads must we travel in search of bliss, and how many stops must be made along the way?"

2) Watch out for sentences that call for the subjunctive mood (used to express wishes, commands, emotion, possibility, judgment, opinion, necessity, or statements contrary to fact).

"If the conception of children *were* the only purpose of such a union between partners, would we not conceive them every time?"

Congrats to this writer for breaking the American mold.

This is awesomely incredible prose! I wish I still had six stars left to award to this excellent philosophical commentary. It posseses a most perfect balance of flow, symmetry, philosophy, and mysicism. It was my pleasure and honor to stumble across this little gem.

Karina... I read one of your pieces and think perfection, then you come along with something holy and sacred which transcends traditional written standards. I have written and practiced this level of intimacy for about 2 1/2 years. Obviously, since the discovery of the Higher Plane concept--To Know and Be Known. There is a poem in my profile of the same name.

I have only found one person, who happened to live in Hawaii and we discovered each other over the Internet, which is actually quite amazing out of millions of people possible, she and I met on-line and from the first instant there was this connection felt of what you speak. It was uncanny as if we had lived each other's lives. Alas, our time was never consummated as A Fullness of Time never came for us to be together as one. But she understood the Principle of the Higher Plane.'

Your articulation of this concept of making love must be launched into the wind and be carried to the ends of the Earth lest even one who desires True Love find it not. I know this is unreasonable, for this knowledge is not meant for everyone; only the Teachers and those initiates who feel something amiss within their soul and the beating of the heart 'neath the breast protecting it. You are a gifted maiden of the art ... Sensuality in all its forms. I hope you fully comprehend your place as a Priestess of this Higher Plane To Know and be Known. Thou art of the Highest Order, Karina. From one who knows. Michael.

Michael, I am humbled beyond words... Because you are such an enormous consciousness, able to embrace the microcosm of altruism, I pray for a miracle to unfold in your special life... and thank you with all my soul for this most unexpected gift...

This is a blissful look at love and the intertwining of bodies in love. If life were that simple, it would be lovely. But for each good thought, there is the thought of guilt, desire, revenge, loving, etc. You get the idea. If love were so easy.

The writing flows with the sensuality of a Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema painting, eliciting the reader' secret pleasures with the sincerity of a night at the Moulin Rouge drinking a glass of 1907 Heidsieck champagne, and forgetting the freezing rain shrouding Paris.
