I enjoyed this story immensely. Using your laptop for a food tray is very funny. Did you really run it through the dishwasher? And it still works? Wow! If your sister is fictional, who gave you the laptop? A very good read. You got me giggling! Thanks for sharing this :)

Thank you, Joy. I'm delighted that you enjoyed my self-help essay. No, I don't recommend the dishwasher treatment, but I have found that Woolite (with my fine washables) on the gentle cycle works quite well. Joy, thank you so much. Peace, Lee

"Self Improvement Fiction"?? WTF is THAT supposed to mean? Sounds like someone has been diddling with his laptop instead of using it as intended for a sand shovel at the beach...

You never fail to amuse, Lee! And by that I mean--hang on while I clear my nose of the rest of my afternoon tea--more LOL moments than one man should be allowed to spring on an unsuspecting public.

Love malapropisms! Norm Crosby was a personal hero while I was growing up, as was Dubya later in life...which, now that I think about it, isn't necessarily a good thing for a President to be remembered for.

I was keeping it pretty much together till I got to those doctored-up lines about italics and bold. Funny stuff! I had to go back and read the whole thing again, and I laughed even harder. Always a good sign when a reader KNOWS what's coming and finds it even funnier.

First rate in every way, Lee! Would not change a thing, of course...except, perhaps, eating that much Spam in one week.

Thanks for sharing...Jim.

Jim, I nearly plotzed when I saw that I could post as Self-Improvement Fiction! I didn't even have to make that up!
You are the King of sly, pour-it-on humor around here, so this really means a lot. I too, loved Norm Crosby, and don't know why he never made it to the top tier. A suspect he was chronologically sandwiched between Bing Crosby, and Bill Cosby.
Thank you, my friend. Peace, Lee

Masterful, Lee. Can't think of any other word.

Man, I remember the first story of yours I read, over a year ago. I remember thinking, how can this guy come up with so many witticisms in one story? Then I thought, well, he's gotta run out of witty quips sooner or later. But this show you're going strong, maybe even stronger.

Great visuals with the accordian, Mortimer Snerd, the metaphors, etc.

Nice ironic ending when you finally get technologically "savvy."

Hey, I haven't read any other reviews yet, but I'll bet my bottom dollar you're finding out you're not the only "nerd" around. Of coursae, no one can write about it like this.

Anyway, as always, thanks for the laughs, my friend. Great humor and wit all the way through this.

~ Erik

Much appreciated, Erik. I stole a page out of your book this around. You do this fish-out-of-water stuff so well. I'm just glad I beat you to this particular pond. The sad part is, I'm hardly exaggerating. I'm staring at a copy of Windows Vista for Dummies right now. I swear it's written in Swedish.
Thank you my friend. Peace, Lee

Brilliant wit and humor. Your malapropisms: italics, boldface, intentional. Using the laptop as a t.v. dinner tray.LOL. Quite an image when you plug in Humpwhistle! Especially liked the "cute colorful doodads."

Hey, Lee. This is really funny. For real, this time. Over the top humor is my favorite and this is over the top. I love your side references ... genuine Dennis Miller. Great. Dan :))

Dude, Spam suprise totally rules. Gr4eat piece, and I know your frustrations. Amazing that you were able to write this without one string of four-letter obscenities, which I always to burst into, like speaking in tongues, whenever I have to do something new with the computer. I laughed, I cried, I rolled on the floor, and the dog brought me the bottle of Jack. Good stuff there Lee.

This was a good laugh just when I needed one! Couldn't find any flubs that I would change, intestinal, bi-lingual or extra terrestrial. I type and do minimal research and post some-good some-not so, on my desk top, just as my grandson taught me in the five minutes he spared. He comes by on Thanksgiving and Christmas(Mostly for the copious meals) and gives me a couple of pointers.
Good story, I enjoyed that!

Nothing unintestinal noted, but lots of good chuckles. The photo looks an awful lot like the typewriter on which I learned to type from morse code. Guess that dates me much older than you. ... - - - ... Jeffrey

Well, unintestinal or not you gave me a great laught this morning.

While over the top you pretty much described how most of us adapted to the computer.

Love the lines....decorative testicles and broken down on the information superhighway. This will shoot too the top within hours, on a Monday no less.

Hey, Ingrid, thank you so much. I'm glad you got a chuckle. Unfortunately 'decorative' is a pretty apt description lately.
    Thanks again. Peace, Lee
