Great story! You had me hooked towards the end, and your writing is very good. Though, I have to point out one line in the piece.

Please, open the door so we can talk." He pleaded for another-the word 'He' needs to be lower-cased. I struggle with that too, but I'm getting the hang of it.

I hope this has been helpful to you. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Thanks for the review. I wrote it many years ago. Not sure the "He" in this case isn't the start of a narrative sentence rather than a speech attribution, though. Thanks again.

No problem. I'm still getting used to speech attribution. Again, I really loved the story, especially the ending.

Cool writing. I am searching out writing I want to read. I have only a few to go before I get to 25, then I will have my quota of reviews for the day. :D
I hope you do well if you write a whole novel and try to publish.

A Night In the Black Forest
Not much of a proposal, was it?

Bette was having a very bad night with mechanical breakdowns and the storm. Wish you'd told us how she met Hansel.

You do realize, except for the architecture, Germany is a very modern country -- with cell phones and everything.

A very good wewewolf story. :) Nancy

Yes, I realize that. Went there in 2001, possibly before I wrote this. Saw something ironic -- Russian street musicians in Bremen, because they could make more money than they could in Mother Russia.

But would a werewolf be modern? Hmm... Hansel is a kid's nickname, so why the heck is he calling himself that? Ha-ha. Weird werewolf. Thanks, Nancy.

Nice blending of ancient myth with a modern tale of vampires! I have to wonder why Artemis would choose George to be the one to take her virginity after all those years (thousands) of celibacy. She would be more fascinating to me if she merely teased George and kept her self even more aloof, interested in George only as prey.

But that's just me. Your story works well as written and was quite a fun read! I'm a fan, now!

Hi, Dav. My best work, I think, is in the novel Turncoat, which isn't yet finished. It's not horror. I do write it, sometimes, and The House in the Woods (from the book you looked through) came in second in a site contest.

Great story! I'm impressed (and envious) of how well you tell a story in such a short space. I feel I've achieved something when a short story is less than 3k words. Thanks for the inspiration!

I envy those who come up with a lot of words. Everything I write is "tight," but for a novel, you need close to 80,000 words. 80,000!

This was a great read! I thought the part with the ghost encounter had the right amount of detail to convey the fear he was experiencing - it was very believable.
I thought the house becoming dusty and old was a nice touch to set the scene.
I loved it!
