I enjoyed reading your poem, "I Miss Your Smile", though very sad. I understand that feeling of not being able to ease the pain of one you love.
Best of luck.
Marybell1.

For your first rondeau, you have given us a beautiful piece about the love one feels for their friend or child, and the pain of lost love. I can imagine that being deserted in your hour of need by someone you love would cause you to lose your smile. Thank you for sharing,
~patty~

He was so sad for a very long time but those children he helped raise kept in touch and that helped. He is okay with it now. Thanks for the review Patty. Nancy

Hi Nancy, it's such a lovely poem but also so very sad. To say goodbye to a loved one is always very sad. He's fallen into a deep depression, and how do you help that? It's wonderfully written. A hug. Ulla :)xx

This might have been a first try, but then as now, your crafting is wonderful. The refrain is haunting and the enjambment used gently glides the thoughts down the page. I also appreciate your deft handling of the poetic devices so they don't intrude but are like a delicate sauce added to the message. - Wendy

Oh wow, this poem expresses exactly the way I felt when both my sons were getting divorced. They loved (like me) so intensely and hurt so much when their dreams failed. I can report that today they are both very happy. Your work is deserving a six rating for its perfect wording and emotional impact.

Then this poem struck pay dirt with you I see. Yes my son eventually healed as well, but it was painful for me to watch and he still is in shock as to what happened at times, yet he has recovered as well. Thank you very much for the six star review! Hugs. Nancy

Lovely, Nancy. You write these sad love poems so well. I know they come from your heart that's why they are always so good. I miss your smile, very sad words but many can relate to them. Big hugs, my friend. : Sandra xxx

An beautiful rondeau Nancy. The well chosen refrain sounds sad with a longing for better times.

When your health failed, she just walked out that night.
You loved her so, you lost your will to fight,
Now deep depression fills your every day.
you never smile, not since she went away.
I wish that I could ease your pain tonight.
I miss your smile.

Oh, How sad is this, Nancy - albeit well thoughout and presented - with a perfect flow to the words, rhythm and rhyme.

Margaret

It's very difficult for me to read poetry of this nature simply because what happened in my marriage of 20+ years.
This hit just a tad too close to home for me, Nancy.
Still, I managed to continue reading despite the subject matter.
As always, I'm glad I did.
It's a wonderfully well composed rondeau.
Blessings...

Mark had been married to her 20 years as well. It took a while but he is over her. The children remember him fondly so it wasn't totally wasted. Sorry it made you sad. Thanks for the review. Nancy

That's what "good" poetry is supposed to do, isn't it, Nancy?
    Make us feel...something...anything...even sadness?
It's much better than feeling absolutely nothing at all, which I do the majority of the time.
    You're welcome. photo hmm1_zpsfi5vspv9.gif
