A nicely written verse and tribute to the bounty of the season, the reason for thanking the Lord for his blessings, bestowed as a result of a blessed harvest. The oldest profession is farming in the bible, and to watch it grow and bloom is good.

Such a very true and wonderful look at Thanksgiving. The bountiful crops of life, we are blessed with each year. Word flow is good and rhyming good also.

I love November - maybe because it's my birthday month. Actually, Thanksgiving frequently comes on my birthday and turkey dinner is my favorite food so it makes for a happy day. The lady in the picture looks like my Grandma did serving turkey dinner years ago. That added to the message for me.
Beautiful abab rhyme and lovely message in your poem.
Blessings
Janet

This is a lovely poem. It reminds us of how much we have to be thankful for. The word choice is strong. The tone is appropriate to the subject matter.

This is a perfect Thanksgiving Day poem, and one I hope that will be read aloud at many family gatherings. In Canada, we have celebrated Thanksgiving this year already - so we are doubly blessed that we can enjoy the American one as well. Excellent meter and rhyming throughout these quatrains. Rose.

Thank you Rose. I just wish the picture wasn't blurred. We had a good year with our garden and we got four deer in the hunt plus we have chickens and eggs and rabbits and cows so I think we are really blessed. It has come with hard work and a feeling of achievement. LOL Yes, we are thankful. Have a wonderful weekend. Nancy

Often people think that Thanksgiving is about what we are 'given' It is also very much about the rewards that come from darned hard work. Looks like your family earned yours. After all - God helps those who help themselves. Rose.

Beautifully done! Nancy, this poem should be printed onto a carved wooden plaque, and placed in the dinning room of every family in America. It reads and expresses the true feeling of this time of year, so well. You developed an enticing aroma to titillate the senses, indeed, I can almost smell the Turkey in the oven. Your saving grace for writing this delicious piece, is Thanksgiving being just around the corner, (wow, this year went fast). I really enjoyed the read, and I shall be getting to the rest of your novel as soon as I get caught up in my message box. Have a wonderful day, Bill

Such a nice impression of Thanksgiving, Nancy. We don't celebrate it here, such a pity... Smooth flow and great rhythm and rhyme.
Really a joy to read. Fia

A lovely poem you've written there, Nancy:)

happy November time..time flies.

The rhyme scheme is flawless and the structure is well handled.

"The time has come to thank the Lord
for blessings He bestowed,
The harvest has been bountiful
a vision to behold."

Hinting Thanksgiving there.

"The apple, peach and cherry trees
brought forth a good supply."

Yum..what a lovely sight.

"The Turkey's in the oven and
the seasons filled with cheer!"

A poem of happiness and gratitude

Hugs

Amanda

I can't remember if I rated this one yet, but I just read it here and I think that the poem is very good and that you follow your syllable count well. The content of your piece is strong, and I can smell and hear the scents and smells of Thanksgiving. Very well done Nancy, your a very good poet.:) SS

I gave up on the other. I couldn't access it then I couldn't post and there was too much attention to fun and games.
