Lovely poem well rhymed with an excellent side of your philosophy .The last verse really makes it dear.

"is witness to the life we've shared, time can't be bought nor sold."

That is really beautiful, Nancy, your words are so sweet, the rhyme is perfect. I must start writing nice poems too, my sister told me yesterday she doesn't like sad poems and that mine are all sad. Its how I feel I suppose. You write about everything, even jokey poems, and they are always wonderful to read, as is this one. :) Sandra. xsx

Thank you for the six Sandra. It seems to me mine are always sad too but that is just how my muse feels not me. I am really a
happy-go-lucky person normally just my muse is sad. I hope you are holding up. Love you. Nancy

My mother is going into hospital tomorrow, I don't know if she will come out again. She hasn't taken much in the way of liquid now, for a few days and is chronically dehydrated. She weighs under 6 stone, around 80lbs, she is hallucinating and thinks her children are still babes. It breaks my heart. We shouldn't have to end our days like that. My muse must be a friend of yours! I'm normally a happy person too. You are my dearest friend, Nancy. Take care. Lots of love. Sandra.

She will soon be with the lord Sandra and better of out of this wretched world. So sorry for you. Yes, we are dear friends. Hugs. Nancy

What a very sweet and romantic poem, Nancy. My guess is that there are a lot of those senior couples on FanStory to whom you are dedicating this. I love the way you work some of the seasons into your poem. As always, a delight to read.
Hugs,
Connie

Hello Honeycomb,

Your poem is beautifully stated. I especially liked:

The silver there that's in your hair, more precious now than gold,

(This is so very true, more precious than platinum and all the diamonds yet to be mined.)

Love and the cycle of life. Very good.

Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Jim and I had the same coloring but he didn't have one gray hair on his head. A few in his beard. My hair is streaked with gray and a couple of white patches as well. LOL I earned them! Thanks for the review Margaret! Nancy

I know this is dedicated to the seniors, but I can really appreciate it. My husband and I have been married for seventeen years and were together for the three years prior. From what I see around me, I know we have something special. Nicely written.

I feel so blessed to still share my life with my husband. this year will be our 35th wedding anniversary. A great poem, and I enjoyed the cadence of Heptameter. It suits you well.
I liked the use of mono-rhyme in the final quatrain too.
It is a nice, gentle read, Nancy.
Rose.

Ah Nancy, that's so sweet, thank you very much. This is a wonderful thought and delivery...it could only be penned by someone who has experienced those true, emotional feelings you portrayed in this sensitive piece. My wife loved it, also, and says thank you. I wish you a day of pain-free peace, if that's possible. Talk to you later, Bill

This is really awesome. My in-laws are in their mid eighties and they have been together for 56 years. Your poem identifies them real well, and I think it will touch many others. Thank you. Mr. Green

A beautiful poem you've written there, Nancy:)

"I swear my love is just as strong and though we're getting old,
we'll waltz along to winter's song and never feel the cold. "

Superb alliteration in "we'll waltz"..very sweet

Love the line about how silver is more precious than gold.

Hugs

Amanda

As always, your poetry reflects your loss, and your undying love for your husband who passed. The writing is excellent, so soulful, so serene. Very well done. A hug would be in order, but inappropriate.
