This is such a lovely free verse and tells a glorious story. But just as I was beginning to get nostalgic about your story and comparing it to mine, your last two lines made it so sad - 'How do we thank you now that you are gone' - family history - it comes to us all, just a sad fact of life. Regards Dorothy I love the photograph of your parents just after their engagement. Makes me think - time flies! Regards Dorothy

Oh, Nancy, this is so lovely.

What a beautiful way to describe the beginnings of a generation.

In so many ways, the world is forever young ... constantly being reborn in love.

WOndrous.

Hugs, your fan, d

Good alliteration with you're/young...younger/youngest...camera/clicked...be/beginning...unknown/unseen/unimagined...great/grand. Good complimentary photo followed by a heart touching message.

Beautifully inspired and created. Truly a dedicated and enjoyable read. How do you thank someone for passing forth life once they are gone. For nuturing and care. A lovely read.

Nancy, this is a nostalgic write for me. The picture looks to be around the early to mid 1940's, the same era from which my parents came. Yes, mine are gone, too, yet we remain to carry on the legacy without their bodily presence. Our memories sustain us. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Thanks for reviewing GracieAnn and for your lovely comments. they were married in 1939 - I think the picture may be 1937 or 38. I miss them but I know they're
    watching over our family.

What a beautiful poem, Nancy, and something really fresh and different, too. Yes, without them, you and your entire family of descendants would not be here. We owe everything to the love of our parents. :)

What a lovely tribute to your parents. Your poem takes a really unique outlook on the priceless value of our parents in our lives, even after they are no long visibly present. Excellent read. Made me long to see my parents again. Blessings, Linda
