Rating of Chapter 35 -
How did the dogs get out?
- Los Coyotes de Muerte."

A quibble. Here the context is that the coyotes are of death. Whereas, del Muerto, a contraction, de and el (of, and, the) indicates that the coyotes are from the dead, which I think more accurately fits the theme.

This is the sort of chapter that really turns the screw in the reader for not following from the beginning.

Nicely done, Lady Showboat,

Fantasist

What a great way to spend my Saturday night, enjoying the father and daughter and cousin reunion and knowing that they weren't murdered. Great job. :-)

He looked up in time to see a shooting star arc across the sky and dive into the sea. The perfect end to the perfect day.===I love that line.

So, what's up? Are you doing two books at once? Except I had to read the last chapter first..lol. Oh well. If I get time I'll start from the beginning. You've been a busy girl!

Oh so perfect of an ending. I loved this entire story. You did a great job with it. I can't imagine anything better. I hope you have some more adventures for those wonderful dogs of yours. I can't wait.

Oh my!!! You left a hook and a half. I can't wait to see what's going on. I am also worried about the dogs. It seems the Carpelli isn't too fond of them. GREAT JOB!!!!

The perfect end to a great story. So glad it had a happily ever after kind of ending like in those fairy tales. I have no doubt Mehia and Edward will both accept Brad into the family. It would be hard to discount how much he loves her. Thanks again for a terrific story.

Ah, music to my ears, Linda, and you know the song well. One of the best things about FS is the super friends you make, their desire to see you grow and flourish.

I can't thank you enough for joining in the fun and considering how well you write, it's a double goodie when I hear from you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

    Hugs,
    Gayle

Sixer for the whole book! Now, Cali Gyrl, how super is that!

Wasn't that a cool ending, lol? I love whimsical endings and this one was cool like that. You know me - gotta have a tear - laughing or crying - need a tear.

    Love you muchly,

Thank you, Gail, for a lovely wind-down and ending to Face Off. (I still think the title is brilliant.) Everything merges nicely and draws the story to a satisfying conclusion.

Point to ponder: One phrase, "drop a gear", sounds like a colloquialism that may not be familiar to some(me, for instance :-)). While I surmised it means to slow down, following Brad's turning the gas "down", I had to reread and think for a jiff to affirm my interpretation to likely be correct. That is the one tidbit offered as food for thought (groan...did I really type that?).

Loved the story and hope to see you at the starter's gate again before long. Thanks for a great read. Pats to all canine ears.

Cheers, Helen (TervLass)

You're right, Helen. It actually means to get going, lol. Definitely will change it out. Editing cave, here I come. And when I'm done, if you'd do me the honor, I'd love to send you a copy.

    Hugs and love,
    Gayle

"Editing cave" - great description! Sure thing, Gayle, I'd love to receive a copy when you've dotted the last "i". Sorry to have spelled your name incorrectly (Gail)- my fingers were on auto-pilot, methinks, as a character in a story I'm working on is spelled "Gail". Oops, I'll have to watch for that switching out.

    Happy editing,
    Hugs back,
    Helen (TervLass)

I'm pretty sure they're in the clear on Hamid's murder, but that Captain is a bit worrisome. I like the way your dialogue flows smoothly and naturally. Another great chapter, Gayle, with more excitement to come. Hugs, Bev

Hey Bev, we're almost there. Capt. Carpelli and Lenny had 'speaks' when Lenny was a LAPD detective. If you'll send me your email, I'll send you an eBook. It's called Secret Lives, first book in the series and still my fave - except for Loup Garou, which I loved best - werewolves and all that, lol.

Thanks so much for all the support and wonderful reviews.

    Hugs and love,
    Gayle

That's very generous of you, Gayle. But I'd be very willing to pay for a Kindle version if you have one? What's your 'pen' name?

    XXX Bev

I'm Gayle Farmer, here, there, everywhere, lol. I'll make you a deal. Let me send you the first one, Secret Lives, and then, if you want, you can go from there.

How did the dogs get out?
Hi Gayle

I am not reviewing much these days. So I might as well disperse of my sixes to the best stories I've read so far and yours is one of them. I read Perfect end and came to read this. It is definitely a good build up to the Perfect ending of this story. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Good luck with publishing this best seller!

As for me I have not been too well and now diagnosed with coronary cardiac disease. Just about to visit the cardiologist who will make some decisions.

If everything goes well, hope to be back in full swing again soon I hope.
Keep well & Blessings,
Sylvia
