So true! As a young adult myself, I can't tell you how many times I see things like this happening around me. It's so sad to see, and they never seem to learn. Some of these girls have everything life has to offer, and yet still fall for these worthless guys.

I don't know what to say now things went bad in our days for sure yet with a broken heart we held our heads up high through the good and tough times with the family's help, and ever thing came together fine with respect and dignity.
    Take care Cookie

Lack of communicating... You got somehow get into your child's mind. Being a mother is... my point of view, However you right, in everything you're saying. If it wasn't for God we'd be lost for real. My kids I'm proud, when fell they knew to dust off and get back up and try it again. Just don't make that mistake again one is and second not. God blessed me with kids they'll listen. Excellent Reading....enjoyed reading your poem. You should get this on out there so these young kids can read it.

What a joyous story, about the times when all is not like we would want it to be...I know about those time, and yet in a way, we managed to be thankful for what little we had...Somehow there's always an Uncle Larry, waiting in the dark of night to bring us joy...

I enjoyed this story poem very much, and I wish you and yours, a Wonderful, and Blessed holiday.

Thanks for sharing this with us, it was a story that turned our well for the family..
God Bless,

Warmly,
Victoria

A very sad story, but with a very important message. I enjoyed the structure and language used throughout. Still a real mixture of emotion.

Yes, having a Christmas tree is a need, not just a want. When I was a kid, we used to have real Christmas trees (usually found them in the woods) but hardly anyone has the real deal any more, although they're much lovelier. Great story in a poem, and best of luck in the contest. Merry Christmas to you, whatever kind of tree you have. judi

Thank you very much for your comments and kind words. I don't have a tree it's a little to much for me.a few years ago I brought a red sheer living room curtain with Christmas light on them and I plug them in like a tree with no fuss,

Superbly lovely. Like happy endings, as you do tell a good story/ poem that's very up lifting. Even the dog for awhile was sad knowing there's no tree. It shows one must have faith. Wonderfully written. Les

Well, this story certainly had a happy ending and that it was based on fact makes it all that more special. We never know when a kind gesture will come our way and must never lose hope.
