Your selection of pouring rain adds much to your poem of hope, amidst Satan's temptations of life's riches and pleasures. Excellent word choice is creatively expressed within this poem. Good luck!

Thanks, pattipac, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the entire presentation. I truly appreciate your good luck well wishes, supportive comments and very thoughtful review. Thank you as well for the exceptional rating. All are very much appreciated. :) ~Dean
Sir, whatever you are on, I need some of that genius. I am in total awe. A tempestuous journey, but oh the relief to realise, you always have a choice.
Always know from which direction redemption falls (like the rain)... Good work, Dean! Kind of a Scrooge meets Satan thing going on here!
One little nit-picky point...
Yet, you deny yourself these treasures,
and toss away such splendid pleasures."
I'd consider switching the treasures/pleasures because pleasure is an intangible feeling inside. Treasure is a much more concrete thing...
In my reasoning (such that it is...) it makes better sense to deny oneself pleasure... and toss away the THINGS that cause that emotion... the treasure.
(Works either way... just like to feel I've given some helpful bit of insight... LOL!)
Cheers!

Thanks so much, Christina, and I agree. I appreciate your comments and excellent suggestion. :}
Wow... that was incredible. A little difficult to read... but then peaking between my fingers so that I didn't see anything that would give me nightmares might have been the reason for that. :) I never know what to expect with your poetry but curiosity usually gets me... and I'm so glad it does. As usual, I thought it was great. A beautiful story that had a perfect rhythm. Very well done!
By the way, just what did eat before you went to bed Saturday night? I want some!!
excellence. I love how it flows and rhythms. I love the pictu4res it makes the poem more real and just sets it in time to the words.I just love everything about it keep up the good work.

Saved this 6 radiant stars for this "dark" poem. I guess, it told the story at the back of my mind? hahaha I'm not taking any meds these past few days, so I better talk to my endocrinologist to give me something that will calm my nerves or is there some pills for hatred? Hah!
I better be reading more inspirational poems, dear. hahaha On the contrary, this one made me realize what I will get after this hatred. Forgive me O' Lord!
You must have had quite a night with a dream like that. Horror, thriller and yet the cleansing rain.
Great pictures, rhyme and alliteration to propel us through this amazing piece. Well done.
