Another fabulous poem, Roy. I've said it before, but your voice truly adds a layer of meaning and intensity that lifts your poetry to another level. This second "Rain" poem is a contrast to the former, which I enjoyed. The voice in this poem is of an older person, while the first poem was written with a very young voice. Nicely done.

I'm very excited for you that you've finished this lengthy and impressive project. Now comes another challenging aspect of writing; the publishing. I wish you all the best, Roy. Your work truly deserves to be enjoyed by many.

Don't you dare become a stranger on FS, or I shall be forced to fly to London and ferret you out!

Ha,ha. Yes...I was hoping that. I guess the bear will have to get a passport for I am sure he is waiting for that tender morsel of which he may be surprised as not too tender.

Thank you so much, thought you had gone off the horizon...glad to see you are oK.
Thank you for that observant comment.
    Best wishes,

A sad and soulful poem with deep and dark moments. Then you can feel the hope shine through. Beautiful word imagery throughout and a very moving read.
You take us on a journey of the highs and lows of love.
sorry I have no sixes left

Roy, I didn't know this was destined to be the last poem in your book, I swear to you, and now, having said that, let me tell you, as I read it, I felt "farewell" - does that make any sense to you?

There's no point in me dissecting this - you don't need me to point out your various uses of poetic devices, and you already know how I feel about your work. What I will do is tell you that I think this is one of the finest poems you've ever written.

I am not sure where I go from here, Dawn. Difficult period in my life, but with a little help guidance and perseverance, I should make through, and it may be hard to say goodbye, yet, we will see. It maybe fate has destined one more book :) don't know.
Thank you so much, my friend, both for the compliment and Thought.Hope all is well on your side.

Once again you come up trumps, my friend, and make me feel like a king. I will be clearing out and adding you soon. You have a good heart in excepting what you can, and giving without jealousy or thought, and who would not like to have such as both fan and also to support.
    Thank you, my best wishes,

A man looking for a reason to go on, recalling the teachings of a loving mother. She tells him to have faith and move forward and to smile. She tells him Heaven can wait. Very nice RG. Wish I could listen. Nancy

A very fine poem. Ironically beautiful despite the persistent downbeat tone. This expressed the stress and anxiety of existence skillfully, in stanzas of rhyming couplets. The meter and flow were seamless. You don't notice it, which is what you shoot for. The imagery was terrific..."The wind serenades the rain's disdain
Mimics me gently then screams again", "A lonely man with a sequined heart
Its broken threads falling apart" etc. The existential angst is countered by an upbeat, hopeful ending that somehow doesn't come off trite or contrived. No easy trick. Well written poem with much intellectual depth. I liked it.

A wonderfully evocative piece that I think resonates with us all, and gives us pause to reflect upon sad times that we have experienced. A beautiful use of metaphors and a skillful demonstration of a wide ranging vocabulary. Well done!

Hi Roy - A beautiful sequel to your poem 'Rain'. Good rhyming couplets throughout and the addition of hearing this poem narrated by you with added music is just lovely. Although it stands alone well, it gives more meaning to the work if part 1 is read first as you say. I find a poem about Mother makes me feel so emotional - my mother has passed on but I think of her daily and your poem brought tears to my eyes. A pleasure to read and hear. Good Luck with your book - and this is a perfect way to end it. Warm regards Dorothy x

Beautifully said, Dorothy. Thank you so much. The inevitable is always amongst us. How we then cope is to each his own. I guess I don't cope so well.
