This is a beautiful poem, this really resonates with me because I recently lost my adopted mom. While the entire poem is written very well, the third and fourth verses are my favorite. There is a lot of imagery in the words you chose...I thoroughly enjoyed it.

''Yes, Mamma, I'll find a little faith,
No! Not I; neither shadow nor wraith
Smile Mamma? I haven't done so of late
Alright; yes, perhaps only fate
And leaves do blow before they congregate
are you sure then, you'll wait by the gate?
Thank you, Mamma...

Its morning in SF, and I read your poem although I was late due to my circumstances, I am crying, and crying, and wish a close hand can wipe away my tears. Your poems kill me, even if you let go of me lately, your poems are written from both of us, as you write your feelings, as a child, and read my feelings in your poem, as a mother.
I never stop , and will never stop, reading each one of your poems till I am out of breath. My worries for my son Rony, will be clarified on the 20th of this month, after his operation. I was left alone, but I forgive. Have to go. xooxox love xoxoxoox

Thank you so much. I was worried when you didn't comment on this one, but now I can rest knowing you are fine.
Such a lovely review. I knew nothing about Ronnie, Terry. I so hope all is in order. I am keeping a very extra special piece of hope by my side, night and day.
I don't know what it is, but you wasn't left alone, just the space for you to breathe and act.
    Best wishes,
    I am right here.
Thank you for the six stars.

Another gem of a poem...So masterly done...And, so glad I still have a six left as your poem is quite deserving of one. And, I can relate & think so many of us, here... Who have been through losing a parent(s)...Even the younger ones, I think understand as I think a lot of us have a Mamma we love.

So, Sorry, that I didn't read this earlier...Though, I come & go here...Life can be so demanding..

I Hope You, RGstar, are granted a Wonderful year...Caressa

Again wish I could give this a 6 but not allowed as a non member.
Exquisitely beautiful and heart wrenching poetry as I have come to expect from you Rhone. Still unable to hear the audio though. It's odd how I can on FM but not here. Did you use the same '|Gentle Falls The Rain ' piece for this one, or a different piece?
I love the images you create with your poetry. Obviously the picture helps, but I can just as easily visualize the scenes in my head, such is the artistry of your craft.

As Part 2 of this truly soul searing and heart wrenching plight of this
childhood memoir and too soon loss of precious mother, you so
repletely delve into the emotions and turmoil of a life seeming hopeless
and helpless, mired in anguished loneliness and heartache. The
continued dialog with 'mother' as a still beloved sounding board and
never released anchor and devoted love; adds to the intensity and
and immensity of the search for direction and strength, in incrementally
profound dynamics and enlightenments, phrase to phrase.
The inquiry into beyond heavens gate, asking mother if 'angels weep'
and will Mamma be waiting at the gate....being late...but in meantime
back home....and heaven can wait....is a staggering swath through the
entire psyche , clear to the very depth and core of soul! It evokes spilling
tears and a sorrow that defy words to describe. Outstanding presentation!

RG...I truly hope you stay on here for awhile, it has been a sheer privilege
and treasure to come across you here on FS! Have learned so much from
your writings, not to mention inspirations and enlightenments gained!
Your immense talent and ingenious creativity is absolutely divine.
Best wishes, and gratefully always, Ronni

An outstanding poetic expression of depression and redemption. Your septets with aabbcc rhymng was outstanding. I appreciate how powerfully this was written, with outstanding imagery like: man with a sequined heart , yesterday's child wilting in the rain, Fragmented sorrows drowning in tears, wind serenades the rain's disdain, and more. The poignant phraseology, such as: Leaving him then; leaving him now, Your lace, Mamma, still binds that shoe. I was mesmerized by it. Bravo!

Hi!

So very nicely written and spoken! I'm a professional songwriter/musician and I enjoyed the musical bed for this wonderful spoken poem. I am a member of the sister site, FanMusic.

My mother died this past February at 90 years of age. I can relate to this poem in many ways. Our mothers are the ones to whom we always turn for guidance and comfort. Our fathers may teach us a trade and tell us how to be a man. But they usually do not have the means by which to touch our hearts and souls as do our mothers.

Wonderfully done in every way! Wishing you well and a fabulous Christmas ...

Alan

You are very welcome! And yes, your poem was a joy to read. I have fond memories of my mother and anything that brings her to the forefront of my thoughts is a good thing.

Wishing you the very best ...
