Blood and gore galore on a children's Merry-Go-Round ride. But thank goodness, the angels and fairies were there to save the children from death and doom. Lucky for me, a lover of happy endings. Great job, and good luck. :-)

This meets the contest requirements wonderfully. You are spot on with your historical background as I have studied it extensively too - so great job with that. The story is well written and quite engaging. I loved it with the exception that I think Michael (or in some tradition Uriel) are the ones who actually banish the spirits back from whence they came .... but having not witnessed it myself on that particular night you could be right :) .... I wish you all the best in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

Hi Kay. You did very well with this history of Halloween combined with a horror story of the same ilk. Warm regards - love Alan

Great story and entry for the contest, Kay. Still not doing any editing, except for the following:

stood silently, swaying in the presence of the Ark Angel (Archangel) Gabriel.

Good luck in the contest!

Lois

Poor old pirate with one gammy leg - how is it healing? Thanks for picking up on Archangel, no one else did! Bless you; in time you will be a new gal instead of lots of pain. :-)XX

reply by mumsyone on 30-Oct-2015
The pain from the surgery is not as bad as the pain I had walking before, with no "padding" (cartilage), and the bones hitting together. Seems like forever, but it's just two weeks today; staples coming out this morning, and I've graduated from the walker to a cane. Thankful for the progress.

My carer had the op and she was up the next day! They don't keep you long in hospital here, three days and she was home. Thinking of you, Lois. Love, Kay XX

reply by mumsyone on 02-Nov-2015
Yes, my surgery was at 1:00 on Friday, and they had me up that evening; walking steps and climbing in and out of a bathtub Sunday morning; and I went home (to my son's house)that day, around noon. They are very happy with my progress; say I'm 2-3 weeks ahead of what's expected. The doctor himself was amazed at the range of motion already on that Sunday morning. I told him, "You're good!" He shook his head and pointed at me and said, "No, it's you!"

I have Home Care, so PT and nurse are still coming to the house. Wonderful that I don't have to got out every other day, as it's starting to get cold here.

Thanks for your caring concern. I'm just not up to writing yet.

    Love and hugs,
    Lois

Lois, So pleased you are on the mend. My carer/friend that lives with me is just like new. Three years she has been going strong. I'm off to respite for a week, talk to you when I get back. Love, Kay XX

Super post Kay. I loved that you preempted the story with the Halloween lore. I never connected 'hallowed be thy name' to Halloween before and it makes sense. The Catholic church used pagan rituals and such for much of its foundations in the early church. Something a lot of Catholics would refuse to accept.

Your tale was totally creepy, and I think it's a very creative contest entry. Good luck, my friend.

XO Bev

My friend, this is such a wonderful lesson about Halloween and it is accompanied by a wonderful little story. I loved both the lesson and the story very much. It is perfect for Halloween.

If you wouldn't mind, I would love to copy this post, (lesson and story), and put it on my Facebook page. Of course, I would put your name as the author of it. I think others would love to learn the truth about Halloween. I also think the story would go over very well. Of course, I will not do it until I have heard from you that it is okay to do so. I sure would like to though.

Thank you, my friend, it was a real pleasure to read this post. Best wishes to you.

Always with respect,

Eigle, Mr flying high, that's you! Of course you can post it on Facebook my friend. I needed to write the real meaning/s it was annoying me that there were too many stories! And thank you for your good wishes. Love, Kay XX

Thank you, my good friend. I am sure that many who read Face Book will get a lot of enjoyment out of both the learning and the story. I know I did. Thanks again, my friend. Best wishes always.

On Face Book, I am using my real name: Elgie Bacon, in case you ever want to check out my page.

    Always with respect.

That was a very informative story about Halloween, we used to call it All Hallows Eve and celebrated with bobbing for apples, and roasted chestnuts-no trick or treating. Some kids do it over here now, though-guess kids will do anything for sweets. I liked all the historical facts, Kay, very well written, good luck in the contest. faye

You're always so good, Cayce. My Son and family are coming down from Alabama to give out candy. I am on my second generation of children and I don't wish to disappoint them!
