Cleaver work. Love the rhymes. Do you have a things for: dark, mysterious, dangerous and handsome? :-) Be careful who you flirt with. The poem certainly does. Thanks for re-posting at the appropriate time of year. It was fun and well done.

Bela Lugosi was a class act. My first vision of Dracula.

Hi Rickie. Yes. I agree. He was a class act. Scary, too, for our time--menacing and sinister. All without special effects. Marilyn

This is a fun and entertaining poem in readiness for the looming Halloween season. I like the short lines and quick flow in rhythm and rhyme. The description of Drac in the second stanza is perfect... I like it and this fun read. ~DD

Well, 'tis a twist
A cut at the wrist
With humor mixed
To me insist
Not to resist
Reading your rhyme
Superbly sublime,
A 'bite out of crime'
A precursor line
For modern MCGruff's time

Hugs, Trisha

Lol. I don't know if I've ever seen a Bela Lugosi film. I've seen, heard and read about him and references to him in other films. What a good sense of humor to accept being typecast. Fun humor in your poem, too.

Hi Helen. He was the best Drac ever. Kind of campy and corny. As a kid, though, he was menacing and scary. He was buried in his costume. He WAS Drac. Thank you for your review. I had great fun with this poem. Marilyn

This was a great read. Glad you trotted it out again. Meter and rhyme all of the time. Loved the gorey picture as well. Gives one a bit of a giggle as we read as well.,

Hi Sankey. Thank you for your fabulous rating and supportive review of this piece. It IS one of my favorites and I giggle every time I read it--and I wrote it. Ha, ha. Bela was the ultimate Drac. Marilyn

my wife's old Tootsie55 account is being opened up again. A lot of you expressed interest in more info on our travels I mentioned in my book she has written extensively on our travels with limitations of course due to our disability. Look out for it real soon. I was not sure you saw her stuff before

I'll be on the lookout for Tootsie55.

How convenient, to actually be born in the Transylvanian region of Rumania, one of our best friend hails from there. I remember him well. Yes the films of the thirties were prominent in early television. A beautifully written revival Marilyn, great short lines and excellent rhyming give excitement to the poem's "bite", well done, blessings, Roy

What a brilliant Halloween poem Marilyn, beautifully formatted with terrific dialogue and super rhyming throughout.
Never knew Bela Lugosi was actually born in Transylvania, talk about being type cast.
A wonderful read.

Hi Mitchell. Thank you for your read and comments. This is one of my favorite poems. Bela Lugosi was the perfect Drac--took himself so seriously. We thought he was scary back then. I guess he'd be considered corny now. Marilyn

I can understand why this is one of your favorites! Well worth re-posting. Definitely an adult take on Halloween! Evil has a sensual attraction - perhaps that is what makes it so tempting!

Hi Tony. Thank you so much for reading. I appreciate your review and comments. I love the little tongue-in-cheek humor of it. Bela Lugosi was the best Drac in my opinion. Marilyn

Hi Dolly. Do you remember Bela Lugosi as Drac? Course he was scary back in those days. He'd be considered "campy" nowadays. This is one of my favorite poems I wrote--humorous and fun. Thank you for your fun review and wonderful rating. Marilyn

reply by Dolly'sPoems on 28-Oct-2018
