Wow, your poems really flow together in perfect rhythm. It's very captivating and held my attention the whole time. Another thing I notice about all your poems is that they all end very well. Keep it up.

Meets you upon the gentle arc
That leads us up the chasmal ridge,
Where we'll traverse the Rainbow Bridge
To fields of gold, to wander free,
Together, as we're meant to be

Man, life's a bitch. Sorry to hear it.

I cried. You little devil, I cried. Hallmark, indeed. You work the emotions like a master craftsman. Helpless to your sincere expressions, I cried like a baby! lol.

Great work. I really missed your stuff!!

More Hallmarkish than your usual?
Yes, but, it's also something that
could be applied to other situations
because as I read, I thought someone
in the family had crossed over instead
of a pet. The only thing that gave a
hint was the Rainbow Bridge. Nice
work, M, as always.

This made me cry. I had a dog put to sleep
and your poem brought back painful memories.
Dogs give you so much love and become part
of the family but they have to go it's like some
member of the family has died.
Sue must be delighted to read your poem, of course
Whitley is smiling as well.

Thank you David for sharing your poem and the
story behind it.

There are two sides to your poetry that I have seen, Marillion: the biting, snappy, wit, and the aching, wondering, melting heart. I don't know which one I prefer; they're both so fantastic.

What a beautiful tribute you have written to the pet of your neighbor. I enjoyed reading it...it has an easy flow and your words are from the heart.

Hey David,
Fair enough, it may not be complex, but that doesn't take away from it's effectiveness and the simple, honest, emotional message which will certainly touch poeple.

Sometimes complexity doesn't work and isn't needed.
This is a great example of that.

Nicely written
:-)

Marillion, you may consider this poem more of a Hallmark card poem, but it is
the type of poem the average reader will understand and relate to. It is beautiful in its simplicity.

Animal lovers everywhere, poetry readers or not, are going to be deeply touched by this sweet and gentle poem. I myself could not stop the tears from forming, but hey... I've got two puppies. I like it when you show this side of you. (The side that everyone can understand. :0) ) Very nice job!
