Hi Colette, stopped by to read some of your material. Wow. Sometimes that's the only word that comes to mind. I'd like to write something inspirational, but I wish I was more 'learnt' in poetry. So, just keep reaching in and grabbing pieces of the stuff we all know, but have a damn hard time expressing. You seem to do it well.
Nice job.

Thank you Auto-Manic, its easy for me reaching my thoughts and feelings, putting them into a said recipe/prescription/method etc. now that is a mountain I wish I had climbed much earlier.

    All the best.

Colette and, thank you for those six stars, you are very generous. Colette

A very well-written poem. It us hard to forget someone close to us when they are not with us anymore. The only comfort we have is that we did our best for them while they were alive.

thank you for sharing this well expressed poem about missing your sister. It is often hard to simply smile and say we're fine because we don't want to burden anyone with our pain - and yet, we still do it to be polite,

A well presented family poetry full of emotions so touching. I share with you deeply in your loss. It's painful. I believe you could have added a statement of hope that we will meet again. That way is a highway to recovery and consolation.

Thanks, Colette. I came on this from a promo and I loved it. I should write a poem about my dear old Mum thanks for the idea. She has been gone now for 12 years. Loved the picture as well.

An intensely emotional poem that expresses the undying sense of loss when someone we have always been close to is no longer there. This is the kind of loss from which we never really recover.

Hi there,

I get the emotion and feel of this piece coming through very well. It is very relatable.

A couple of things I noticed-

but, It's not and never will be - it's.

Yet, I am outside the window looking in! - personally I'd ditch the exclamation mark. I think the line is stronger without it.

and "When they ask me" - there's really no need for the quote works here as it isn't direct or reported speech.

Awesome, Collette. Such an honest and free construct which polarises your feelings. I am a huge fan of so called "free verse". I have been away from Fanstory for 12 months so thought I should ease back in with something simple. This is a powerful write. Thank you for sharing. Hugs - DJ

This truly is a real heart-felt display of emotions following the tragic loss of such a special sister, Collette.

I have three younger sisters in their late 50's and early 60's, and I can't imagine life without them, as we're all very close, and an emotional loving family.

It's often more heart-breaking than say, a marriage break-up, as we've lived our entire lives together.

Of course life has to go on, and we need to put on a brave face to a degree, but life can never be the same again, as you state In detail so strongly and movingly.

Best wishes, Ray xx

Thank you Domino 2/Ray, for your understanding review. Would I be out of line if I happened to mention, my
name is Colette and, not Collette, no offence intended or received I promise, just a typo that I am sure. Domino 2/ Ray.

Of course you're not 'out of line', Colette, as we all like to see our names spelt correctly.

Apologies and best wishes, Ray xx
