I feel the way you do. I reported someone on here that seemed to be pretending to be someone else. 'She' wrote perverted poetry and said it was children's poems. My hackles went way up! I know that there are lot of predators online, they can hide and say they are a mother with five kids -- just hope the children know better. I don't think they should be trusted, either.

I feel inspired when you get wired o'er ghoulish, ghastly ghosts.
Or cringe with dread at what you've read, so frightened by my posts.
Romance is not the thing for me, it doesn't make me quiver.
I'd rather write of things that bite, eliciting a shiver.
Zombies are cool, but they don't rule this poet's morbid muse.
Nor vampires, or goons for hire, can light his frightening fuse.
No gore or blood will bring the flood of horrid inspiration.
It's darker, deeper eerie creeps that cause me perspiration.

When the sounds started, both my cat and I jumped half off the sofa. :P

Hi Dean, you have yet again written a fantastic poem and one that stirs emotions. How anybody can use children to play out their own sick fantasies is totally beyond me. I don't think punishment is the answer to stop them, which the statistic so clearly shows. I think they should be operated so they simply can't re-offend. It doesn't bear thinking of what the victims, the children, must go through. All the best. Ulla:))

Wow! You really nailed it with that poem. What horrors can there be that compare with the foul creature that would pervert an innocent child. Don't send them to prison, just remove the offending organ (or gland).
The picture of the child made to look like a shattered teacup was especially powerful and well done.
It's difficult to remove our human emotions and accept that those who would do such a thing have just as much access to forgiveness as anyone else. It seems unfair and I couldn't do it. I guess it's a good thing I'm not God.
Well done. Very stirring and emotion provoking.

I loved your poem and the rhyming was terrific. Depending on the context I read your poem, it is almost comical but when you read it In the context of your comments, it can be horrific and I am in total agreement with your assessment. I was Chairman of a state prison for a few years and there is a code of conduct in the prison system and pedophiles are the lowest of the low and they get their due if they are placed in the general population. I always enjoy reading your work.

It is becoming apparent that many authors of different themes in the literature include among others a character who has an episode of child abuse. I hope all engender real horror as you have expressed here in this poem. Many examples of excellent rhyme, alliteration, and enjambment - an easy and well thought-out read

As always, your alliteration and natural end rhyme are the marks of a skilled craftsman. I take it the narrator is you.
Pedophiles are far more scary than zombies, etc.
Definitely, an act that shouldn't be forgiven.
I saw a Criminal Minds episode where the sex offender told the FBI with a cunning look. "You can't help me. No one can." I suspect something went wrong with their wiring when born and thus the taste for young untainted flesh.
Monsters reside deep down inside of very horrid hosts.

Excellent poem and a difficult subject to read but our children and grandchildren need to know the "stranger danger" concept. My daughter was a friendly, trusting child and that scared me constantly. Thankfully, she got through her childhood without meeting one of the monster predators.

Excellent rhyme and alliteration in a poem with a "tough" subject matter. Perfect scripture to add to the power of this piece.

Biting and eliciting shivers can be romantic! Guess it depends on who is doing the biting. :D

darker, deeper, eerie creeps - that just BEGS to be read out loud!

Child molesters should be shot, set on fire and pissed on. No. On second thoughts. just let them burn. Unfortunately, many of them seem to be part of that 'pious' community. Oops. There I go. Sorry.

Then again, this poetry draws the reader in. It's very powerful stuff, Dean. Bravo.

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I am no expert but I think the recidivism rate is much higher which is why they are required to register where they live when released. Personally I think they should be kept in jail forever. I have never believed in the death penalty, except when a child is harmed. The world would be a better place without these offenders. Okay, enough of that. You did a terrific job with this one. You captured my full attention from beginning to end. You truly have a gift and I am so pleased you continue to share it with all of us.

I do like the whole theme/ content within its well structured rhymed stanzaic layout. I have nothing to suggest if not agree with the author whose flowing poetical narration is rhythmical and a pleasure for reading. Pedophilia Is rising nowadays due so much to TV free sites and internet. There is too many sexual things to see. My favourite stanza is the last one. Thanks for reading.
