You've plied your poetic skills skillfully to construct both poem and
message! Just a touch of tense imagery but a ton of disdain for the
evil beasts that prey on defenseless children. Pedatory abominations,
whom, I agree, are undeserving of "compassionate understanding" and
efforts at rehabilitation.
(Truth be told - I probably (in a rare instance of old-fashioned) champion
the punishment dealt in The Scarlet Letter.) PERMANENT and visible tattooing.

Hi Dean.
Intetesting,concepts leading to the worst.
I think most people with ,children are unaware of how bad 'CHILD ABUSE' is in the States.

As a Father of a son who passed away because his friend could care less...
I always wondered if,that kid Brian was abused..

Oh, dear, bad haircut day! And sounds like he has wind. "I'd rather write of things that bite, little bit of liver." Hee, Hee. They should be castrated or hung for what they have done to little innocents. God sees all, and "vengeance is mine, saith the Lord, I will repay." We can't stop them, for they are like a plague and in darkness they do their filthy works. Bless you Dean XX

OK. I'm cringing with dread and shivering with fright. The line " a wicked smirk slashed smug across their faces" really paints evil. I agree with your statement about child abusers.

Some very interesting stats in your author's notes, Dean. Shocking! ... to say the least! Yes, I agree with you! Lock 'em up and throw away the key!! As you say, these poor children are never the same again. How could they be?!

Your poem is fantastic! Internal rhyming at its finest! The whole poem, despite the morbid and serious subject matter, has a sing-song quality to it that is most appealing ... and, in fact it actually makes for an even creepier write, if that is at all possible.

Your poem is great from start to finish. I love it all. So many great parts, but of particular note to this reader is:
"let's help them out, the pious shout, they're worthy of forgiveness
Would they be proud to shout as loud if their child got the business?" ... you hit the nail on the head here, Dean! Excellent choice of artwork too to accompany your write.

Child molestation is the thing that nightmares are made of!

I was involved in a study in college where we tracked various treatments for child abusers - both sexual and plain old battery. You can attach electrodes to the penis and shock the heck out of them and they will still get aroused by the mere picture of a child. I think you have this write pretty well spot on when it comes to the nature of those genuine horrors who roam the streets. Worse yet, when they are released they learn that the only way to protect themselves is to kill the victim quickly which is why there is a three to four hour window today for ever finding an abducted child alive. Well done and did I mention the meter and such perfect?

I'm not really a blood and guts kind of guy, a timid type who would never hurt a fly unless provoked. But for those barbarous bastards who would hurt children, I would rejoice with every pierce of an ice pick as the red specks splatter. Thanks for another fine poem. :-)

There are 20 states that have passed civil commitment laws that have the power to confine child molesters, rapists and other sex offenders who have finished their prison sentences but are deemed too dangerous to re-enter the community. The former inmates stay indefinitely in these programs, or until they prove therapy has made them safe to leave. That being said, the words of your poem deliver a message that needs to be heard. The arrangement with the artwork is just right. Thanks for sharing this piece.

Once again your dark words tell the story that in truth is true. That in itself is very, very, sad, but you tell the story well, though it be dark and dreary. So I must say you did a good job.

Excellent

This one horrified me and the sound affects chilled my bones. I am out of sixes but It deserves one. I too hate molestation, children are so innocent and loving. This is creepy but that is what you love to write.
