Well, you got into a Halloween roll. The title to this poem struck my fancy. It's a pretty jazzy poem. The alliteration of P & S words are great. And you're like an authority on the holiday. Cute. Nice. Smart subtle rhyming. It works together well. Good work.

Hi, Marilyn

= Snapple and Snickers.
= Sounds like a major food group in there. (*<*)

= So sorry, I apologize for not reviewing your work the last few days.
= My FM has been acting up of late, so it has slowed me down a lot.
= Just cannot concentrate the last few days, or get around too well.
= I'm also trying to get ready for company this weekend--not easy while sick.
= It will be a few days until I can get back into the swing of things.
= I didn't want you to think I'm ignoring you. Just need down time.
= I hate to do it, but please excuse the cut/paste.

Hi Jax. I DO hope you are feeling better. I've taken a few days off, too. I hate to do that because I also don't want my
friends to think I'm ignoring them. An awful lot going on here, so sometimes life takes over. Thank you for reviewing.
I agree Snickers--especially--a major food grouping. LOL! Marilyn

Well, I'll be durned! Young'uns still bob fer apples in
yer parts! And wimmen can apples?

Actually, I have no idea anymore of what goes on in Halloween parties in the city. Not a lot of jack o lantern carving either, and those store-bought ones are too small for the trick-or-treating bounty. The Snickers are stored in the belly, I guess.

Here, trick-or-treaters are accompanied by their parents (I don't know about elsewhere) and participation is voluntary for us apartment dwellers (sign a consent agreement if you want to share your snickers with the greedy little goblins).

Oh, by the way, Marilyn, I really like your poem, although I can't relate to any of it. Nice imagery, flow, rhyming and alliteration!

Don

Hi Don. LOL! I enjoyed your fun review. My daughter still goes trick or treating with her kids. You never know these days. Things are so different from when we were kids. Well, Halloween is over for the year. It was great fun to write and read along with everyone else. Marilyn

A well-written Halloween poem. your well-chosen words flow well line to line. They combine easily forming the message of the poem for the reader. Your artwork completed the piece nicely.

This is just downright clever and SO cute!! Six stars for coming up with the idea of turning apples into Snapple, and using those "punkins" for carrying Snickers. (wish I'd thought of it! :) ) I just loved the whole vibe of this fun Halloween poem, Marilyn. It's not easy to get one's point across in just 5 syllables per line. Fantastic job on this!

I'm glad the fruits were spared in the construction of this poem. I enjoyed your lighthearted rhymes and overflowing "punkin". We're getting down to the wire, and I expect only two more Halloween poems from you--and as I've told you, you have helped me to look forward to the celebration. Smiles- Joan

Hi Joan. Yes, it's finally here. Done for another year. Both my kids enjoy Halloween so much and it seems that Fanstorians do, too. Thank you for following along. Now to get on to something else. Marilyn

Punkins are grown to be murrrdered. So tragic. Little wonder they're used for Halloween. I'm glad to hear no punkins were harmed for this poem, but think of the pain they endure being scooped, scraped, and carved. Good horror poem. LOL!

Marilyn, this is a fun poem for the Halloween season. A nice, swift rhymed piece with 5 syllables per line. I did wonder why punkin and not pumpkin...either way, I love snickers. ~DD

Hi DD. Thank you for your supportive review. I love Snickers, too. Punkin is an affectionate term (I think) for pumpkin. Who doesn't love punkins? :) Marilyn

What a happy Halloween poem! Love the colorful picture, and how did you know snickers was my favorite!? Yes, kids do like to store their treats in the punkins, probably because it reminds them of the magical night. Blessings...

Hi Judy. You and me both. Love Snickers. They don't stick around long. I enjoyed reading your fun review. Thank you. For this poem I wanted something light. I'm glad it came across that way. Marilyn

I hid a stash for myself out of our Halloween candy, I'm thoughtful like that

reply by the author on 01-Nov-2016
LOL. Your private stash of candy!! Believe me, when I want Snickers I go for it. Mostly I try to rein myself in though.
