I can certainly see why this won the contest. Brilliant story and I was not expecting the ending!
Congratulations on the win even if it was a year and a half ago! LOL

Hi Ingrid,
God woman... is this your dark side arousing your many fans and readers with the sick-twisted reality of life trapped in the illusion of 'the poor me syndrome?' Well, not you personally of course, but with this guy... this sick-puppy, you have described people I know, or have known... scary hey?

You know I could have read this without knowing the author and still knew you wrote it... yes, it's that certain language... the words and phrases used that have your hall mark signature.

Hell, I recall you using that 'Mommy issues' with me at one time... smile))))))))))))).

No matter, probably correct as usual.

Anyhow... I know I'm a tad late in reviewing this beautifully written tale of destructive behavior... and how about that therapist? Fueling and fanning the flames of mental illness... wonder if she'll use the pill scenario again?

Well, the only thing left to say is... congratulations on a great little story... it is beautifully written, one of your 'specials' that piques the attention of the intended reader and keeps them in a strangle hold to the very conclusion... well deserved win dear friend.

You're scary!

With our thoughts we create,
the tipping balance.
James vx's.

Nicely written. I enjoyed the story. It surprised me in the end that Ben did not use the pill for either his mother or his self. It also surprised me that he actually decided to kill his mom and not think about it and go back to the doctor. Congrats on winning the contest. It was an awesome story.

Character studies always make stories more interesting, and I place a huge emphasis on getting inside his head. Thanks for reading and the stars.

Psychological drama that oozes out a mixture of suspense and horror. Both characters are so richly and compellingly drawn. Ben is a frightening examination into the depth of a twisted human spirit.

The ending is unexpected yet carefully crafted that the reader is not jolted by it. Good luck with the contest.

Wow, Ingrid, this is a darkly imaginative Write About This story about a psychiatrist's prescription gone wrong. In the States, she would be tried as an accessory to a murder, be imprisoned, and lose he license. Here in your story, I watch a what if scenario unfold. You pulled me in with a story in which I think I know where it is going but you give me a surprised twist at the end. Your writing and dialogue are highly visual, helping me imagine that I am watching the events unfold.

Thank you for sharing. I wish you success in the contest with your creative entry.

Yeah, this was a lot of fun to write. Incite to murder? Yes, I am quite sure the charge would stick. Surprise, Dr. Morgan. Thanks so much for the stars.

That was something of a unique story. It caught me from the beginning and I had to continue reading to see what was going to happen. I guess that should always be the goal of any writer and I did not anticipate the ending as I so often do. Good story, good conclusion, if strangling your mother could be considered good.

It doesn't have to be on our play-card to bite the hand that feeds you, but it makes for fun story-writing. Thanks.

Okay, I wasn't expecting that ending. I wonder if any therapist has tried this in real like. Giving their client a vitamin and telling them it's a pill that will kill a person. I can see how it might make some come back to reality and change things but then again I know a lot of crazy people who might try it. lol. Great job

The placebo effect can be a pretty strong tool. If a person believes in something strongly enough, often it happens. If he'd taken it, perhaps he could have willed his heart to stop. Thanks.

Yeah they had someone who got locked in a freezer truck overnight once and they made themselves so cold thinking about the back of the truck being cold that that they had hypothermia and died...The truck was broken and it wasn't even cold in there. Had they not thought about it or known it was suppose to be cold they probably would have been alive the next day when they were found. It's crazy how we can do that kind of stuff to ourselves.

reply by the author on 28-Nov-2016
Supposedly, we can also heal ourselves too.
