Your first paragraph hooked me from the start, it was so wonderfully written. truly! In truth, I was furious with your husband, but enough of that.
Your descriptions of Brandy's habits as a puppy were funny, which added a light note to counter the sadness.
This is a marvelous story providing a lesson for us all. You did a terrific job.

Okay, you brought tears to this guy's eyes. We share a deep love for animals made obvious by this emotional, but teaching story. It is truly remarkable how easily animals adjust to adversity. Indeed a lesson for us all. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on a well-deserved win! Loren

Thirteen years is a wonderful life for a large breed dog. You did a great thing, and Brandy had a wonderful, fulfilling life. This was a touching story that resonated with me on many levels. I love the way you connected her optimism and attitude with trying times in your own life as an example to carry on...

"This is the one!" I told the breeder. He smiled and then [wrote "SOLD"] on her numbered anklet [before leaving] the room so the two of us could begin bonding.

Congratulations on your first prize win for the Share Your Story Contest. This is a touching story of a wonderful partnership between humans and animals. It is very inspiring. Thee unique circumstances of Brandy's tragic loss of both eyes, and her adjusting to a sightless life so well, is such a great triumph. The story flows well and is very straightforward. It is a well deserved win. Sincerely, Hummingbird Hill

Exceptional. What a beautiful love story. Most people would have put the dog down when they found her to be blind. I once kept a cat that had an incurable affliction that made her wobble when she walked. They said she should be put down too, but I cared for her for five years and received a ton of love from her before she passed away. Great story.

Beautiful story. I enjoyed your mix of humor and heartbreak throughout the story. It's a difficult thing to do right. How did I miss this before? Congrats on your win! Well deserved!

Take care,
Russell

Congratulations on your win. But you already won when you selected Brandy to join your home. The love you both had for each other was apparent. I really enjoyed your story. I wasn't prepared for the eye problem & was really worried about Brandy & you. I am thrilled you did the 'right' thing. Did the other dogs help her adjust?

Thanks for sharing a wonderful story. It is amazing what animals can, & do teach us. I love dogs. Jan
