Love the rhyme and flow of this poem. It reads so well. What disturbs me however is the feeling and belief is it's an all too true reading of the political scene in far too many country's today.

This poem, A Politician's Lament, presented in mostly 8-6-8-6 ABAB-rhymed quatrains, makes a point for those poor politicians who trade representing their constituents for getting their ashes hauled.

I like your satire criticizing the government but told through the viewpoint of a politician. The speaker is ambiguous which is good because this poem can apply to any politician, past, present, or future. Great job!

great job, I thought your poem was entertaining and funny. It truly shows the mindset of many of today's politicians. Anything goes, as long as the economy is doing well, and you end every speech with, "God bless the U.S.A." Could also be titled, "America's Lament".

A very interesting poem. Your rhyme and rhythm are perfect for this piece. It will be interesting to see who the next President is. I am from Canada and we take great interest in the U.S.A. politics. Thank you for sharing this piece with us. Blessings. ~Brenda

Political parody is almost unheard of in today's world of the need for political correctness in all areas of life.

I could see the newsprint articles form the press being referred to in your parody.

Amazing how things can become twisted by fake news. So many sit and watch such when they could tuned into many other things worth hearing. Thanks for sharing.

I like the various crossing of subjects, swing of a blade slicing like a hot knife through butter, finding these statements appealing to my given interests. I view this a very creative read, stated all in my opinion.
