As usual, RG, your message is strong and clear and an admirable tribute to women everywhere, especially those in abusive situations. That includes the little girls so terribly traumatised in every case, some even to death, by FMG. I have read extensively on this subject and feel distressed about the domestic violence in our society today, some due, probably most, to alcohol, and now complicated even more so by drugs. I congratulate you on the strength and sophistication of your words. I like this one especially for the rhyming, which almost went unnoticed under the weight of the powerful message. A deep deep message so very well done, Giddy

Hi RG Star, this touched me on so many levels. First, the writing is superb! The descriptions and imagery wonderful. Second, as a woman who has gone through every form of abuse a person can go through, it also touched me deeply. Third, I just lost my mom one month ago to cancer. You truly gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you also for raising awareness against abuse! God Bless You! I'm also sorry about the loss of your mother, and that she suffered abuse also.

Hi, Mel. So sorry about your mum, always a hard one to take, even if we expect the worse.
So sorry to hear of that past, and as you see here, there are some who care.
You hang in and sail over it, dear friend.
Because of you, and such like you, like us, we will extend the olive palm, and bring awareness so lessen the fall of some yet to come, and extend the education in preventing many.
My best wishes, and thank you for the six stars.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks. I have healed from the past, although it took some years to do. I've dedicated the rest of my life to helping people overcome abuse. I do an equine therapy ministry and I'm a counselor. I also do support groups for the sexually abused. I'm grateful to you for writing such a wonderful piece and helping to raise awareness. God Bless You!

Very well done, my friend. Such strength in your words in stanza after stanza. I tried reading it both ways, with and without the narrative recording and music. I prefer the lower voume and reading along with you.

One has to experience the wrath of abuse in some forms as a youth in order to fully appreciate the words embalmed in this work.

I had not a mother to call my real mother growing up and envy those who do. How lucky they are and yet many males and females alike are cruel and disrespectful of their mothers.

Outstanding job here, Roy. Blessings. Bob

I had to turn my speakers off, I am sorry to say, as it was too intense and upsetting. But I take my hat off to you for tackling this subject and pay homage to your poem. Writing as a man lends it even more power. The abuse of women is barbaric and unforgiveable. Thank you so much for sharing this. Susan

I can't hear the speakers on my computer right now, but your words spoke volumes to me. I was abused as a little girl and it carried way on up into my teen years. I felt like all my friends knew what my dad had done to me. Of course they could not have known but I did. Thank God he helped me to get rid of that feeling many years ago. This is a wonderful poem you have penned my friend. Blessings, Teri

Thank you so much Terry. If you have ear phones that will work instead of speakers, but it is enough you get the important part...the words...always the words.

Sorry about the past, Terri, there will always be a story.
Thank you, for the six stars, dear author...sail on, and be the voice for others past, present and future.
    My best wishes.

fr'As many will know, I write often through the eyes of, as well, in support of, women, as much respect for my mother, as never even raising my voice to her when she was alive, not once, (she was always proud to tell everybody of this) much to her suffering in abuse, of much I saw as a child.' I had to listen to the sound very quietly AFTER reading your poem once, then read it again. It is so achingly beautiful, like myself you are not afraid to write as or identify with a different gender, for a man this is even more unusual but it works marvellously. I could understand that there were many, ultra fine but deep layers to this. It is so well written, the emotion pours forth with no holds barred. A clear 6. Well done and all my kindest wishes for you and your family and those with families who treat them badly or no families at all. Kindest regards, Meia x

This stirs many emotions and proclaims the importance of our mothers and women, how they suffer, yet still press on through hardship, pain, and trauma. Many women have bore the burden of abuse in some form or other, but are resilient and this honors them. great write!

Yes, RG, I appreciate the fact that you often write in honor of women. I was abused from the time I was born by an older brother -- both verbal and physical. The scars remain, but today, while watching the movie, "The Light Between Oceans" I heard, "We only have to forgive once, but to keep a resentment is work".
The genital mutilation is a horrible thing and the other abuse that women take. I have hope that there is an uprising and awakening of thought as to the treatment of women in the past and I feel that there is a brighter day. Poems like yours help get us forward.

Time is a healer, Nancy, but we have very little of it.
Sail on dear lady, and you be the voice of tomorrow, for you know the signs and how now to help where needed.
Thank you so much for the super six, dear author.
    Have a beautiful day.

How could this piece earn no less? This is a powerful and true story of modern age rituals from past day rituals that should have been done away with long, long ago. I think your piece is profound and worthy of much more than 6 stars.
