A very funny story. Dean said that your writing is similar to mine. I can see it. I have written about fifty Tom and Carol stories about our marriage.

Funny cozy, captivating. Read it right
through. Easy to comprehend. Flows nice and stays on topic. There's many ways people write about marriage and the day to day of married life, love how this is put together makes it feel like your in the room, part of the conversation.

Thanks for digging back into the archives to read this one - these are among my favorite things to write.

I love this so much..... I laughed out loud many times. Of course, planning a eulogy is comedy gold anyway. We have a running joke at our family's Thanksgivings and weddings that the favorite activity of our family gatherings is planning funerals, yet none of us is dying. It really is written like sitcom dialogue which makes it easy reading. You don't overdo the "Maggie's Foil" role. Well done again. Fun to read. If you ever revise it you can also say "At least I didn't suggest "How Can I Miss You if You Won't Go Away". . . . which is an actual country song.

Thanks - Maggie has been prospecting second wives for me since we were married. Might as well mine it for humor. Actually, whenever Maggie asks if I will miss her. my standard answer is "I can't miss you until you go"

Good work, Mark! I enjoy your humor in these little slice of life scenes. The fascination of what will and not happen during the funeral was hilarious. I seriously need to work on some material.

Take care,
Russell

I love this, Mark. The two characters are very realistic... and ONE of them is named "Mark." Hmm.

I've had these conversations. I want a huge party. "Ding-Dong, the Witch is Dead!" OMG! I'm ADDING that to my list.

Sadly, "City of God" is already on my list.

I've picked out all my readings.

I really am dying, though. LOL.

I'd give ANYTHING for a comedian like Mark at my funeral.

Thanks so much for the review and the generous rating. I'm hoping that the "I really am dying" line was in jest, but it sounds like you're being serious. So sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I will definitely check out your writing as it seems like you would have a unique take on things.

As you guessed, these pieces are very close to reality - my wife has been giving me her funeral wish list almost since the time we got married.

reply by emptypage on 18-Mar-2017
LOL, some of us are obsessed with that.

I already added Ding Dong to my wake playlist. People are going to laugh even if it kills me! (groan)

You made my day. I had to share this with my
wife, Carol. I want to hope that I'm not that
dense. The dialogue between these two is
exceptional and that's why it's a six. -Bill

Thanks so much for the six. These pieces are closer to reality than I care to admit sometimes.

another wonderful Scene from the Marriage!" Love these things.
They are so real, I can hear the inflections in the voices. Really funny stuff.
A book is calling. (or sit com)
Hope you keep 'em coming.

I'm so happy right now... You are getting better and better with your scripts! The flow, the come-backs,the personalities of the speakers...just great!
The couple remind me of Mark and Maggie...know 'em?

Thanks. By the way, I showed Maggie the review that you addressed to her - she loved it - thanks for scoring some points for me Of course, if she reads this script, I'll probably go right back in the doghouse, but at least it got a couple of laughs..

There is nothing like a good laugh on a Friday afternoon and you have jusat provided it. This is an excellent piece of sitcom writing. I do wish they still made them like this on the real telly.

Thank you Jim. The highest compliment that can be paid these pieces, from my point of view at least, is someone saying that it made them laugh. Thanks for that.
