It is true that there are some baby foods that smell horrible. Like the first meat mixtures. This is a witty poem about the baby's view on baby food and a good description of why a lot of it hits the ground. This kid is smart to want ice cream instead.

Keep writing

Happy New Year.

Joan

Hi Joan, thank you so much for finding this poem in my portfolio, it was a giggle to write and I suspect the thoughts are what many babies think. lol. Happy New Year, to you, too! :) Sandra xx

My pleasure. It made me giggle for I worked in the baby room of a childcare center for a while.

Ah, Sandra, this poem is just adorable as the baby in picture. Is that your little one?

I love the below stanza:

Did you get close enough to sniff
this yucky stuff? it's got a whiff
of sick and poo mixed up in one;
would you put this upon your tongue?

By the way, how are you and your family? I keep you in my prayers.

Thank you so much for reading my poem, my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been struggling but slowly starting to write again. We have so much sadness in the family through cancer, it's been quite a stressful time. Thank you for asking, that is so nice of you. Big hugs. Sandra xx

    Sandra,

I understand, Sandra. I have been there with both my dad and brother who both died of lung cancer. But, please remember God is in control. Pray for strength, my friend. You will need it.

Aw, Karyn, thank you, my friend. It's no better, cancer is a terrible disease and two of my close family have it. It's hard for the whole family, but I am trying to write a bit now, just to take my mind off it for a few moments. I'm so glad you enjoyed this poem, that child's face just made me smile and I had to put words to that amazing expression. Thank you, my friend. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

That picture says a thousand words and your poem is appropriate to. But I guess in the end the baby gets the revenge because we'll be eating that same nasty stuff when we get old. Great Job. Mary

LOL! I hadn't thought of that, but you are so right! Thank you so much for reading my poem even after the promotion was finished. I'm delighted you enjoyed it. The expression on that baby's face is amazing, I had to write the words to go with it. :) Sandra xx

LOL. Reminds me the times when my kids were little. My Mary had a time and knew the moments. Yep the photo tells it like it is. What a mess. That littler stinker.

Delightful poem! Sorry to hear you're going through such a rough patch--troubles never do come singly. A laugh always helps, so I'm glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour. Hope you and your family get the support you need to see you through.

It's a great start! Nice rhyme and the baby's 'voice' comes through in a delightful, assertive, endearing way.

So sorry to know you've been dealing with sickness and sadness, dearest Sandra. Thinking of you, sweet friend. I'll remember them all - and you - in my prayers.

Loving hugs,

Sonali xx

Thank you, dear Sonali, the picture just needed to have words written for it. I thought his expression was brilliant.

We are having to help two very dear family members struggling with cancer. I hate that disease! I don't know of any family who hasn't been through this pain, it's about time a permanent cure was found. Sorry, I get so cross as everything comes down to money in the end, there is never enough put into research. :(

Thanks again, my lovely friend for reading this bit of silly fun. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

I detest the word cancer, Sandra. I have personal reason to. I'll remember to pray for you and them. Love you .. xxx

Thank you, my dear friend. It has taken too many in my family beginning with my husband 31 years ago. It just doesn't stop letting me know it's still out there. I know you have suffered too. Big hugs, my friend. xx

Well Sandra, let me welcome you back with a six. You have done an exceptional job with composing this quite funny poem. The child doesn't want anymore of this goop; would prefer ice cream with chocolate sauce. Sounds like a better trade off to me. Well done Sandra. Take care my friend. Love you Sandra!!

Hi Jim, thank you so much, dear friend. Ice cream and chocolate sauce is my downfall, lol, so I thought it would be appreciated by this cute little boy. He certainly doesn't look as if he's enjoying what his mother gave him! I hope you are well, my dear friend, it's been a while since we had a long chat, my family has been going through it lately, so I haven't felt like writing or doing much of anything. I still think a lot about you, and your nonets, they were amazing. Take care dear friend. Love you lots and thank you for the lovely 6 stars. :) Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra. I've been away from the site for a good while and when I stopped by during my lunch I saw your poem.

It gave me a chuckle for sure. And the baby is right. Why not this yucky stuff for mom and dad as well?

Nicely done. John

Hi John, I've been off for a while too, this was my first poem in a long time. I'm so pleased you stopped by, we've read each others work over the years and it's nice to meet up again. I had to write something for this photo, his expression is hilarious. Thank you so much for the lovely review, I'm glad my words gave you a chuckle. Take care my friend, :) Sandra. xx

Hi Sandra - where have you been? Been wondering about you. This is a charming little tale and it made me smile. Well written, clever and a treat to read with that great picture - a family member? Maybe not! Don't stay away so long in future. Warm rgards Dorothy xx

Had lots of family illnesses. It's a worrying time, Dorothy, thanks for asking. No, this little chap isn't a family member, though I can find some that are just like him, lol! Isn't he adorable, lol. Thanks for the lovely review, my friend. I'm back now, but probably not as much as I used to be, at least not for a while. Hope you are well? :) Sandra xx
