there's nothing harder on the heart than when a child turns away for whatever reason. I can feel your pain through the words, and I hope your prayers will be heard - maybe mine will be too,

This is beautiful, so passionately written, a mother loves her beloved babe lost in heavenly abode but she believes her only little heart would return once on this heaven as she prays on Mother's Day; I liked and enjoyed the lovely read.

This is a beautiful Mother's Day card, Adonna, and although the most gushing, or filled with joyous emotion - it is what mother's day is all about. There are many mothers who look for joy, but find mostly pain on Mother's Day. I am one.
Loved this poem. I know there are many mothers out there who can relate.
Beautiful Sonnet in well paced meter. It was a pleasure to read.
Rose.

Rose, I'm sorry to know you, too, experience pain on Mother's Day. I know there can be many reasons for such sadness. I wish no mother ever had to feel that kind of grief. Thank you for reading my poem and for your lovely comments. I appreciate this so much. Hugs, Adonna

Motherhood takes on many aspects and you explore one that is not often mentioned. Mothers are always concerned for their children from the date of their birth on. You describe the concern in a loving way and let your children know they are cherished.

It is always sad to lose a child, whether to death, or drugs or mental illness. It is truly difficult to accept sometimes, but hope never dies. Thank you for reading and for your sensitive response. MM

This is such a beautiful poem, my God, I couldn't get through it without a box of tissues, I started crying and had to start over sniffling and tears all the way though. lt is a very touching poem, I loved it immensely. ~Kerry

A very well written Sonnet Sequence that sincerely, touchingly expresses a mother's love for a lost child. It flowed together well on that vibrant iambic pentameter. As you clearly demonstrate, not all thoughts on mother's day are happy ones. Well done!

This is very sad but beautiful and filled with hope that the wayward child will soon return to the fold and into mothers loving arms. Very poignant and sweet Adonna. Nancy.

Lovely poem and sad as you say.
Am I understanding this wrong or did you lose a child? If so, I'm sorry for your loss.
As you say, being a mother is the best. I've also adored it... most of the time.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for reading my poem, Maria. To answer your question, I lost a child, but not to death. I still hope and pray she will return. Love waits for her here. MM
