Most all of this is a very fine example of your work. I like it and yet I can't tell if I would actually like to keep it as a meditation myself. The thematic treatment of
love is good. My problem is that the last two lines seem like a prose affirmation.
So very true! One can't just talk the talk. One has to walk the walk as well. I agree with you, Jaybird1, a meaningful relationship can't just subsist of empty words.
This is a lovely poem with a wonderful message to everyone. Well written and presented to your reader. I especially love your opening two lines,
"If talking love is all you do,
your troubled heart may tell on you." :)
A pleasure to read! ~ ~ Connie

Nice, in depth, but straight to the point. I like how you didn't have to make this drawn out and sappy to convey your message. Even though brief in length, the simple yet thoughtful detail gave it all the life needed to do what was intended. And that was invoke a certain feeling. Well done! Take care.
I so enjoyed this well written poem. Love, love, love this! I can't tell you how many times I have tried to convey this message to my children. We all get caught up in our own "stuff" that we miss the opportunities to act in love that are staring right at us.
