Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
The poet delves deeply into the heart of the matter in this profoundly painful write--death. The passing of all things loved, the decay of life all around us, reduced to nothing more than the dust and scraps gathered up in the vacuum. Perhaps it is my current pensive state of mind, but this piece resonates with me and I expect it will stay with me a while...

How I know what you're feeling, the pain, that lump you carry all the time in your throat. I lost my cat two months ago and I miss her so much. They are our family, and we mourn them as such. Those little things keep popping up, another whisker, a favourite toy stuck under the cabinet. I'm so sorry for your loss, I feel it too. Your poem is lovely. Sandra xxx

A very well-written poem about your cat and what he meant to you. After his death you came across a single whisker that took you down memory lane, and the precious times you shared.

You've written a lovely poem with great imagery to begin with. I liked the way your poem flowed easily off the tongue. It was well structured , grammatically correct and I enjoyed it. Good luck

I'm not a pet owner but I feel the pain of your loss in this poem. Like the description of the physical and emotional connection with your dearly departed friend. Loved the image you provided. Excellent.

Mitchell,

This poem pulls hard at my heartstrings. I shed tears when I read this poem. My condolence on your loss. You creatively described your relationship with your cat and all the memories the two of you built.

As an cat owner and lover, I can relate to your poem. My male cat is like my son who I look forward to seeing each at the door when I arrive home.

Technically, your poem is well-executed as usual. The language has its usual flair and elevation; the emotions are raw and honest; the metaphors are well-used; and the message is evocative. I look forward to reading your work.

Even after death there will be things that remind us of that one we loved. Some of these things can appear at a time when we least expect. Blessings, Patricia

Mitchell,
We never forget our 'babies.' You did an excellent job with this remembrance/tribute poem to your kitty [I call all of them kitties or puppies no matter how old or young].

Your lines flowed smoothly with great word choices to convey meaning & emotion. I like how you arranged the lines on the page. Your kitty was lucky to have you for 10 years. I lost Wendy in May of this year after 17 years. You have some great memories of your kitty [what was her/his name?]

Your image is perfect for your well chosen words. Good job & thanks for sharing.

I still look for Wendy.

Jan

Hi Mitchell,

Sorry for the loss of your beloved cat. Pets can evoke emotions that even many people in our lives cannot surpass. It is that bond of unconditional love that will never be broken in our lives. Your lamenting free verse is a fine tribute.

Just a thought or two:

floors fine wooden grains and all across the floors laminate lid, (floor's?)
