Love the metaphors. So did your town feel like ET might show up. lol That's what it sounds like with NASA showing up and all. Sounds like a Disney movie coming up around all of this. would make a good side story to a big robbery or something. pondering. Great job on this. you make good points.

Yep it was kind of strange. NASA was here, Bill Nye the science guy was here, people from every state and many countries. it was craziness. I'm glad our town is back to it's normal sleepy self but also so glad to be a part of the experience. Thank you for the awesome review and stars!

I like the progression of the poem and the unique approach to an age old phenomena and the resolution you have devised.
No one likes to think of there never again being sunlight or moonlight for we have all grown accustomed to a happy medium, and of course, require it to survive.
The last four lines are magic.
:-) Shirley

Good personification of the sun and moon in the eclipse. It seems like neither won the fight. Both survived and the world went on as normal. It never got totally dark near me. But it was cloudy all day so we couldn't see any of the effects.

Keep writing

I love your take on the eclipse, how you speak about it as a fight between moon and sun.
These lines are beautiful:
If moon knocks out the sun
all rays of hope are gone.
In darkness we will forever live
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Tab. I believe this is one of the best descriptions and poetic interpretations of the Eclipse I've seen. Beautifully presented as well. Nice to see you ... I hope you are well. xoxo Kiwi

A like the competition between sun and moon, but hope it never happens. We've already lost the romance of the man in the moon since the astronauts.

We only got odd light that made everything look wavy. No total darkness, so I was a little disappointed. What we did get reminded me of the story of the Crucifixion.

Lovers may have to sunbake in a quiet cove on the beach! No more moonlight escapades. It is scary to a point, seeing an eclipse. Then we know who runs the earth, and it isn't man. Well done with this one. XXK.

I love your thoughts on the Eclipse - the struggle for power
between sun and moon. Great use of personification.
Scary to consider what would happen if the moon won out.
thoughtful piece.
