You did a great job with your poem. It is reflective as you wrote in the description box.

I understand how one's thoughts after attending a service could lead them to thinking of their own death. While we may hope for a big turnout at that time, one never knows. But time will move forward regardless. It is sad to think that no one may be there except the 'things' in nature that are always present. The bison reminds me of something solitary lonely which correlates with the lonesome feeling of being alone at one's funeral.

Good job. Jan

Hello my friend this is well written when you lay a person to rest you always expect many people to be there at the graveside this at times is not the case but it doesn't mean they are not missed by someone well done regards Jill

I spent five years of my life in beautiful state of Kansas. The still, rustic beauty of the plains is unmatched in the land. This prayer/reflection as a dear one was set down "..in last repose." speaks as an excellent tribute.

The photo and the title of your poem attracted me immediately. Really said if you take the poem literally. The bull on the prairie welcomes you. Rain starts making a sound akin eternity.

This poem, The Music of Stillness, has in its words the gentle acceptance of nature and our ongoing, eventual relationship to it. Your words seem to reflect on all that we thought life would be, though we know where it will always lead. As a reflection after a funeral, this has that more cynical tone of seeing few mourners at a final sendoff. Evidence that life does indeed go on without us. Nice read.

No place can be found for escaping death, wherever we are, however we are and whatever we believe in. It's the Secret Cycle of Mystery, for why be born to live only to carry the seed of death for as long as you are alive?

Thank you for this wonderful and thoughtful poem.

V.,

What a sad and mournful lament about the passing of one of the earth's largest and most curious creatures. Do you mean the buffalo himself? Or is this a metaphor for something bigger, more personal? Either way, your words were lovely, like music. Thanks, I enjoyed!

A stark and fascinating poem, so well written in your original and unusual way, I enjoyed it very much and found it was very different, which is your trademark of course, Touche :) Kind regards Meia x
