Great job on this challenge, Valda! I love these Blitz poems. So much can be crammed into them, and they are easy to read.

Your Blitz poem conjures up all kinds of fun memories of playing games as a child. Board games were always soOO much fun!

I enjoyed reading your well written Blitz poem! ~~ Connie

Excellent example of the form, Valda. It brings back great memories for me too, of being on holidays and playing this with my parents and other relatives. Very nice job. Craig

This reminded me of my own childhood. I have four sisters we played for hours against each other but the real fun was when mom would play. We all wanted to beat her but we seldom did. So much fun. Good blitz poem thank you for sharing such a familiar and dear memory. Thank you for sharing your work.

Chinese checkers was one of my favorite board games as a child. I never learned to play chess, and was only mildly good at Checkers. Many blessings for the week ahead. Patricia

Hi Valda!

You did such a great job with this one. I love the approach of describing one night with the family playing games. I'm having a "why didn't I think of that' moment now lol I need some coin and I'll get mine posted.

Thanks for the awesome example of this form! I struggled with this one! lol

Kim

I struggled a bit getting started with my practice piece, I think it is all the short phrases, it makes you think differently to a longer line poem. Glad you enjoyed my Chinese Checkers,
    thanks again Kim,
    cheers,

This is a very good Blitz poem you have penned for the potlatch. You used very good wording and great imagery with the picture of the Chinese Checkers. I used to play that as a child. Brought back good memories. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Many thanks Teri for reading my Blitz poem on Chinese Checkers. Yes, I think that was a favourite in many households, simple game but fun and some strategies needed. I'm glad I brought back good memories for you,
    thanks again,

Arghhh! How long did it take you to do this? Are you in some sort of group that does these challenges? I could just see the game as it went along...amazing how graphic this mess could be! Lovely job.

Sorry, but I haven't the skill (or the courage) to take on these challenges that you do so well. I'll just keep on reading your work and marveling at the different forms! Rose

Oh yes, Chinese checkers was one of my favorites. Wonderful nostalgic blitz poem. Childhood was so different when we were kids--innocent. We enjoyed each other as we played board games. I especially liked the sequence here of "grinners/winners."

Ha, ha! A form I can't get mey head round, describing a game I can't get my head round. All I can say is that it adds to my confusion, rendering it absolute. You appear to have followed the rules to the letter, and in doing so, have described the game I don't understand perfectly. So, very well done even though it leaves me totally blitzed.

Wow. You kept it moving along swiftly as instructed, and it made sense all the way through.

I haven't finished mine yet. I hope I do this well. 8-)
