Hello RG... You certainly know a thing or two about poetry and how to drag the reader into the stinging narrative. Love this, its super clever rhyming tricks and its flow. Your use of repetition is very potent and adds to the overall hammering of your message. No wonder this won the star prize of the month! .... (It might win next month's too)

with my best wishes, Edwyna

There is no closer brother or friend then the one in that fox hole with you. Your differences fall to the way side when the stories you share with him and he with you expose how much you have in common. And your skin color is camouflage green.

Thanks for a fine read.

Since I had only read three of your evocative pieces, I decided to look at your portfolio. What a wonderful find! With my heart in my throat, I will read them all. This poem transcends the issue, and leaves the reader with a sense that something right happens in the world. Your descriptions, similes and rhyme are flawless. The first stanza with such truth began the reader's journey. Goosebumps follow tears!!

    Thank you so much.
I am so happy that you stamp such praise as I know it is the highest rated poem of all categories from records, and with a good amount of reviews, so you doing this makes me believe it is that good.
    I thank you so much.
My very best wishes, and thank you for the super six.
    Best wishes.

RGSTAR,
I haven't been in this site for a while, but came on to post a new poem I called Misty Mirror Man. Recalling your wonderful review of my poem "Interlude At the Fountain" I decided to see what you had posted recently. I am so glad i did.

Wow... This poem is extremely powerful and evocative. Truly a masterpiece. Thank you for a beautiful work of art in the form of prose. Congratulations on winning the poem of the month. It's well deserved.

You're very welcome. Also, I edited "Misty Mirror Man" with your advice in mind. Best of luck in all your endeavors.

Yes, I had a look at your poem again. Much better now, even though it seems longer. Much less heavy. Nice and spacious. Yet, with something this long in future, you need to put dollars on or many will hop over it. Get reviews in, same some dollars and make strong your work, then post. That's what I do.

    My best wishes.

The six is for;-
the memories you keep alive in your story
the love you portray in the telling
the tears I shed when I read it
the promise of "one day" when things might change
the gentle search for answers which are never found but you still ask
the truth defined as "Nothing defines us apart!"
the talent you harness to share this blessing
The six is for;-
you
your poem

have a smiley day my friend

I would pray that this would circulate around the world just for the single purpose that every person might feel it's raw emotion of humanity even if for no other million reasons

How wonderful. Thank you so much. You should not have used your six here, as so little of them, but I am honored. It is Fanstory's highest rated poem, so I am kinda proud of it.
Thank you so much. Please have a great day.

Many kudos on winning the Poem of the Month Contest. I admired your evocative picture selection and repeated "soup kitchen" reference, plus your internal rhymes. Your salute to friendship and the forgotten hero is powerful. Let us learn from experience and never forget! -Joan

hello Roy. There was no audio on mine, but was not needed as this is an extraordinarily strong write and voice of the author. There is no excuses good enough for people to hate each other because of color. I grew up in the south and have seen the signs that address the question of who is superior black or white and read them with shame in my heart as I had a parent who was like this. The fight for whatever was being fought for left me in tears as many of us want to do something worthy, something that shows courage and strength and a selflessness that could not be more eloquently expressed than what you have given me this morning in your write. God love the soldiers that not only fight for their beliefs but for them that serve the goodness of being human as well.

It moved me this one. It truly did. xoxo deborah

Thank you for this. Yes...only time heals, even if at times there are many that would turn it back to try and build divisions and hate, but it can never be, for human nature out- battles, the will to cause harm.
    best wishes.

RG,

Once again you have presented as a gift to us, your exceptional writing
which has so much depth and meaning. Bridging gaps. The
following lines stood out to me:

"Violent the night.."

"And when branches broke, in smoke he'd choke...with God he carried me light"

"And we won that bridge for 'Old Glory'

I'm blessed to have read and your use of soup kitchen as a metaphor
was also memorable.

Lovely music and vocals as well,

Linda

Hi, Linda. So thankful for you going back to this, but, though grateful, no need to use sixes on the work long gone, for I tresure your few sixes, and your words are far enough...always.

Yet, I am grateful. Thank you for them.

    My best wishes.
    Have a great evening.
