Roy,

This is another poignantly penned poem my friend of which you never disappoint. The ultimate gift of love is to have that enduring love throughout ones life. Truly deserving of a six in more ways then one. So glad to have your poetry to enjoy for another year. Be well, God bless
August

The tree that flourishes,
is it not with aging of the bark?

I'm at the age where I'm more bark than tree. This is a very well-written poem. When love grows old, sometimes it grows better.

Wish I could hear the music, RG, and hello!! How are you doing? This is a beautiful poem. Do you ever write sonnets? I may have read them, that would be my bad. :P
Have a good week -- good to see you!

Yes, but I would rather read them, as judging them can be a nightmare as the rules are not as basic as one thinks.
Reasons I write things that make me happy. There is a sonnet in my portfolio if you want to take a look. It was entered in a sonnet competition.
    Good to hear from you.
    My best wishes.

This is a delightful poem about older love, which is deeper, I think, than younger love but not more important. My daughter once told me and my hubby to stop being embarrassing when we kissed in front of her lol. Thank you for sharing.

Very exciting piece, finding it filled with items that delights the senses, thought-provoking views defining changes upon the living. Yeah, things do get rough down the road, like looking in a mirror seeing a mummy.

You have offered up a sincere paean to old-age that a majority of FanStorians (it appears) can appreciate. (I admit, I'm one of them, myself.)

Lovely write, Roy.
There are quite a few rhetorical questions posed within the body of your poem as well.
Some may have the answers, others may not. However, given the fact that they are rhetorical, that's really irrelevant.
So many outstanding lines permeate this write.
Suffice it to say I enjoyed the poem in its entirety.

Yes, perhaps rhetoric in terms of persuasive speaking, yet, I hope that many could find a medium in seeing the goodness in themselves despite aging. I guess trying to live in the moment instead of fretting beyond it.
Thank you for the feedback Dean.
    Have a great day.

A very well-written poem about aging. Although the outside seems weathered and worn the beauty from within still comes through and shines like a star.

This is a very pleasant read. I felt a bit pleased and interested although not moved
to a passion, as some poems about youth would portray. So it is apt to the theme of age or aging and wounds quite wise.

Yes, perhaps I am optimistic in thought, but a mental dominance is key to aging where some use other sources. Yet, to find reasoning and what could be, in the now, rather than fear of the future, despite the age, is key. So look for the things you are able, and think not of what you are not able...there you will find solace, or even happiness.

My best wishes. Thank you for the six stars.

I like your well-written poem "Older", it flows well with the truth about aging. I have been thinking about getting older. Maybe because my birthday is approaching. I like your poem in its entirety. I also like your artwork choice. Best wishes! I enjoyed reading your poem.

Hi, Angel, every second we lose, we become, so solace and happiness must be found in the now...keep colours bright though tempted to believe dim is your worth. Things that belonged then, belongs now. Enjoy them.
    My best wishes.
