The soundtrack is perfect, the images well-chosen, but even without all of that, Dean, you create a delicious, dark atmosphere with your choice of words, your rhyme, slant rhyme and alliteration. I love this one.

My favourite alliteration through these verses about the endless journey across the Harbor of Hades is -enhanced my loss
through constant consternation -
You really put us on the seas with your descriptive phrasing Dean,
enjoyed this dark poem.

Ah, the river Styx, one does not enter lightly
Poetry, like imagination, can take us almost anywhere
and back again.
The last stanzas reminded me of the end of the world in the Pirates series.
The poem has excellent rhyme and the meters fits it perfectly.
I believe that's the way it should be, the meter fits the needs of the poem
not try to squeeze the poem into the meter.
Great presentation, as always.
Well done.

"Harbour of Hades", is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post. To me this is a definite six!
When I'm around here, Dean, I love reading your poetry that is so haunting. You deliver another fine haunting poem here that excels not only in spookiness but in perfect rhyme and meter.
Always a joy reading your poems.

Hi there Dean,
I've been away from FS for several months, but it is fun to come back occasionally and read some of my favorite poets' recent poetry. This was a talented write, my friend. I see you are still doing wonderfully well at creating spooky moods. Good for you. Thanks for sharing.
Warm regards, Aggie (W ^-^)
I've been gone for some time and you're my first read in my return. Thanks! A dark tale of the ultimate darkness. Nice use of V and W sounds to build a tone of pain and sorrow. Well done sir. Gulls waiting to maim and maul, nice!
