These images of Hades certainly frighten us, with the despair vividly expressed. You do, however, end with an interesting line:
'til then, I must set sail
There may be an escape.

Yes, that's always a possibility if we can remain calm and level-headed through any of life's storms we might face.
Thanks for reading, Mark.
Enjoy the day.
I thought this was wonderfully scary, which I love. I also enjoy your special effects and wish I could do that. You are a master of writing about horror and the supernatural, of which I am also a fan. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely even and a good delve into the psyche...a probe into own mind, yet, beware what you find. As to where the voyage ends, and where it shall again begin, lends to the ask.
I like this.

Thanks very much for reading, Roy.
I always appreciate your insights and feedback when you are able to give it.
Take care, and thanks again.
With gratitude,
Hi you are really the master of creepy writings. and I truely enjoyed the dark imageries which remind me of Hobbit Lord of the Rings. This is great writing in its own fields and congrats.

I always enjoy reading you with all of your fantastic alliteration (dark demons, whispers waft, for fear, constant consternation, maim and maul, etc)
I see this poor soul, his eyes wide, awaiting his fate.
Well done,sir. Well done.
Perfect music to move on with the pace of the poem. The artwork accomplishes the same. You have a huge vocabulary that you dip into to keep from ever being repetitive. love the pairing of vapid void and maim and maul.
Excellent photo's both of them that complement your poem perfectly. It rhymes all the way, and flows too. An original subject crossing the Harbour of Hades. At the bottom you find a skull.
Hello Dean
so you took a temporary journey to Hades (hell)
and decided then when you saw light in a Harbor and asked for help (from God) not to further your trip to the depths of hell.
Yes, I like how you mixed your rhyme pattern with your excellent meter.

This, truly, is an amazing piece! I love the artwork and the music that goes with it! I felt the sorrow and pain through my senses because of it! Wonderfully written and wonderfully displayed!
