The thing about the 2nd Amendment is... when it was written they didn't have AKAs and all the monstrous weapons that are being sold. Perhaps "The Right to Bear Arms" should be "The Right to Bear Certain Arms."

I see you have posted another short poem on the subject of gun violence. I don't know what one can do about it. These people will find guns no matter if they are banned or not. There are just too many guns out there. We have three in our house. They are never used anymore, but they are here.

Thanks, April. I dare say there are very few homes in Michigan without a gun in the house. (not in mine btw) It's because this is a big hunting ground for hunters I think. Too bad we can't go hunting known bad guys. :) Bob

A very topical subject for your one line poem, Bob, at least in your country. Isn't it a very big deal to change something in the Constitution though, I mean can you ever get everybody (especially all the politicians,) to agree in a country where guns are so important in the mind of the vast majority of its citizens? It's great to see these questions being asked though. And I take my hat off to the students who had the courage to march in protest, Giddy

Yes, Giddy. I could not be prouder of our young people here.. Hooray for them! Changing the second smmendment will likely never happen thnks to the NRA here. They are very strong lobby with tons of money backing them and you know it's all about money. Bless you,my friend. :) Bob

I like your title and for a one line poem I thought you did a good job of conveying a lot in little words. I personally don't think that is the answer but that is just my opinion. People are the problem and until people change, they will always find a way. Good luck in the contest.

I agree with you, Dawn. I am only saying that is ONE of the problems needing change. Thanks so much. :) Bob

Hello, Mastery, :)

Good poem. I agree we need change, but I feel that the little guy who always gets the gun shots will lose. Maybe I am a skeptic. I just don't have belief in mankind anymore when it comes to this. (Or should I say politicankind?)

Have a good day!

I can see where you have deserved six stars on this entry and I wish I could add to it but I am out of them. Great entry and a good suggestion. Well done.

Yes I don't think they would have never imagined today's world when they wrote that second amendment and how much it is used as an excuse (from my POV from across the world) for not making some changes. I'm sure you've had both sides of the coin from reviewers. Well said though Bob,
cheers,
valda

Good dy, Valda. I am so heartened by the reaction to this poem. Thanks so much for your review and your input, my friend.I would say that ninety percent of reviewers have cheered this as an action that should be taken. And it may if we can just get a real, honest, non-NRA, gunloving president elected. That will take a while in all respects though. I personally have great hopes for our young people and their initiatives. :) Bless you, Valda. Bob.

ps. I spent eight years of my life in the Marines on active duty and I was aan expert rifleman, but I do not side with the NRA.

YES!!! I hold an unpopular opinion in that I do feel that not all should be allowed access to guns and that the second amendment was written at a different time when needs were different. Your words are well chosen. Best of luck in the contest. Evi

I agree something needs to change, but I have no idea what or how to change it. We are in a mixed up mess and I don't see a solution in the near future. Good luck with the contest.

A very well-written one-line poem. It doesn't seem to me that any gun can kill anyone without the actions of someone handling the gun and aiming at people. It is usually unstable people who kills people. There is the problem.
