Thank you so much for sharing it. I found the poem moving and genuine, and its tag line haunting in its ability to express equally happiness, sadness, contentment and pain. I was very impressed.

OMG, I am so sad I don't have a 6 left-I usually do but I have read some good ones today but this one would have been a better choice. I absolutely loved it. So well rhymed and to me the essence of poetry is emotion and yours brought that out exquisitely.

So many pictures in our lives. Each one a scene from our past. As they say a picture paints a thousand words and you painted a thousand pictures with your words. Thanks so much for sharing.

Sometimes you make your readers cry too, but I know what you mean - I've done it often, my friend. This is sad, but elegant, and oh-so-evocative. I've ...'got pictures in my mind'... of beloved parents, of a baby brother growing up to serve his country, of a loving wife, and finally, of one who is assured of his place in heaven... Very effective use of that repeat line too.

Wish I had a six for this - mine are gone by Monday at the latest usually. *sigh*

There's really nothing more you need to say, meeshu.
You've pretty much spelled it all out for us in this lovely poem of reminiscence.
We'd like to say we're going to our final resting place while having no regrets. But there are simply some circumstances we would like to change yet are completely out of our control.
Exceptional writing...

Well hopefully you don't make yourself cry too much. :)

This has a very nice rhythm to it when reading it out loud. The layers of the different pictures in your mind well set out and easy to connect with, minimal wording.
Very nice, soft sentiment and emotional poem.

The use of your repeated line - like in a kyrielle sews the different verses together keeping a continuity throughout. It shows that sometimes we do have a glimpse of our past and future and while, we all will die, we can have a peace about the rhythm of life.

this is a very fine review, lyen. I had not seen it as a kyfrielle, but you are right it is a 'cousin' lets say........meeshu
