Art: what a nice remembrance of your precious friend.
You traveled, designed and shared memories. So hard to
say goodbye. Our photos help us smile, even with blue hair.
What great travel times. flylikeaneagle

Sounds to me, like you are a good friend, and you lost a good friend. The photo of the both of you is priceless! You will always have that to remember that day. It must have been very painful for her, and difficult for you to watch. You have many great memories of the two of you, together selling handpainted clothing. Traveling all those miles together, I'm sure, created an incredible bond between you two. As for the poem, it is very touching and real. My favorite phrase is, "Wish I could've taken your pain, but, our lives made other plans." That shows a great deal of empathy and compassion, for Bonnie, and what she was going through. A lovely tribute to a lovely friend. Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Jesse

What a touching poem about the loss of a good friend. I love the picture choice and both of your hair. Friends like the one you described or not easily forgotten. Thank you for sharing and best of luck in the contest!

I am so sorry for your loss, my friend. I especially like this line:

as my face turns to rain.

A very touching poem, my friend~Debbie

Hi Diana. I love the beautiful photo and the sweet smiles. Bonnie's eyes are that striking "whiskey" color that I find so appealing; yours are blue, my fave. This is a well written bittersweet poem of love and friendship which I enjoyed with the repetitive line.

Now my hair is gray and I wouldn't change it. If I were younger, maybe I'd go for blue. My grandson (12) loves to color his hair.

Author's note: died (dyed), dual diagnosis (diagnoses), every where (everywhere), La (LA).

Hi Ulla... I'm sorry this made you sad... I just wanted to write and honor a person I spent so much time with... We were sister in spirit... We could finish each others sentences... I think we spent the majority of our time making each other laugh! Thanks for your review. Yours, diana

reply by Ulla on 12-Aug-2018
Yeah, but sad in a lovely way. Your friendship shines through. ::)))

You look really good with blue hair!

I am so sorry for your loss. Cancer is such a plague. I lost my sister to it 5 years ago. She was the youngest of 5, you don't expect the youngest to go first. I think of her everyday. Memories are often painful, but they are also a really wonderful thing. People die too soon. Well done. Rox

It sounds like a wonderful friendship you two shared for so many years. It seems Bonnie was quite a character. I think you've written a delightful poem in memory of your friend, and a celebration of your friendship. Very nice job, Diana.

I saw the picture, and read the poem before reading the note. Not that I needed to the worn out expression on your friend's face plus the poem told me all I needed to know of the outcome. The travel details in the note served only to heighten the feeling of loss. The refrain line was perfect. This poem is so well put together and of course so sad.

Pantygynt... I really like that you noted Bonnie's undefeated but tired face! We spent dozens if not hundreds of hours in the van traveling all over the Western parts of the city... Thanks for the refrain line... It felt right. Yours, diana

Thanks so much for your generous 5 stars/plus-one review. So Appreciated! Yours, diana
