It was great learning about the relationship you have with your daughter, how special it is to you and her, and how you are striving so hard to overcome the challenges of her condition and enjoy the rewards of her life, and the gifts she has to bring to it. I am a believer in what Jesus said: Life is not what you take from it, but what you give to it. And it seems like your daughter has a lot to give. She seems like a chip off the old block, and with your encouragement and advice, I think her storytelling will bloom. What I found so interesting about her story was the knack she seemed to have for capturing something of her own experience, in relating the story of the faeries and mermaids. Something of her isolation in her unique condition, and her desire to break out of it, and the hopes she has in overcoming the isolation and working together with others to make a better life and a better world. All that I could see in her story of the faeries and mermaids working together to overcome the adversity they face when the faery world is wrecked in the storm and they rebuild it together. I pray for you both and wish you all the best, and hopefully we will hear more from her as her writing grows and develops. She has a good teacher. All the best, estory

Now, then, Georgia, this review is for you, since this is your story, and I'm sure your Dad will show you. You're giving your Dad a bit of competition, here. It's a lovely little story with a proper plot. I loved that you thought about how the faeries would breathe under the sea, and that they all worked together to help rebuild the Kingdom in the end. If the faeries and mermaids can work together, I think we should all be able to do that, don't you?

I'm so glad you let us read your story. I hope you keep writing, and hope your Dad will share some more. We all need more Faeries and Mermaids in our lives! You've made me smile with your charming tale, so have a well-deserved six.

She's done a one-up on her father. Lol. Cute little story and her grasp of language is very good. Her story made me smile. Happy endings are wonderful. Tell her, 'Cheers' from me, and I hold up my cup of coffee to her, in a toast.

I'll probably read this to my grandkids, because we are always making up stories to tell each other. Jeremiah is always the instigator with the storytelling. He likes scary ones about Bigfoot.

Aw, Georgia, I love this! It's my type of story, happy ever afters'. Fairies are wonderful people, much nicer than some human people. I love it that they made friends with the mermaids! Your daddy is so lucky to have a daughter who writes wonderful stories, especially as he also writes them. I bet he's megga proud that his daughter is an author like him. Big hugs my dear. xxx

Gareth, that was so nice. You're a fabulous dad. :)) Sandra xxx

Hi GMG. This is a great story. She is lucky she has a daddy like you. But, you are also lucky to have a little girl like her. You are guiding her through life right now and also helping her improve her own skills and knowledge. Autistic kids really have a problem with social skills and anxiety. There was a detour once on my sistrr's Normal route she used bringing him home from school. She endured, screaming,
Tears, shrieking. He kept saying it was not the right way home. He also would go and wait outside when cruel classmates said he could try their toys outside and then never show. Best of luck. Thank you for sharing. More men need to be the caring father that you are

Wonderful story, Georgia! The world needs more stories like this one and I hope you keep writing to encourage grownups to learn to be friends and help each other especially in times of catastrophe.

So, it's probably safe to assume having read Georgia's tale about faeries and mermaids working together for the greater common good that she prefers happy endings.
It demonstrates that despite our diverse differences we can still work together to reach a harmonious conclusion.
Stephen King wrote The Eyes of the Dragon, his only faerie tale, for his daughter.
If Georgia hasn't read it I think she'd really enjoy the story.
Good writing, Georgia.
~Dean

Hi Dean, Georgia says thank you and has gotten me to order the book. lol She likes the happy endings but is okay with some of the original fairy tales too. G

She'll love Eyes if the Dragon.
It's a great faerie tale in the classic vein.
Chances are you'll really enjoy it too, Gareth, providing you can find the time to read it.
Take care, the both of you.

Oh Georgia girl! How I love this. You are special and so is your daddy. Your story is wonderfully written and makes me believe anyone can be friends if they try. I wish you were here so I could meet you, but for now, please know you have a new fan in me. From Kentucky, U.S. -- keep writing okay? I really enjoyed this post you two! :D Susan

What a lovely, well-written story. The Mermaids was the wiser, helpful character who worried about the fairy's where about. Clearly, Georgia knows what to expect as a dependent person. I feel she will learn more independence in time. All in all, she learned to craft a story long before me. I just learned and still have problems. Georgia is doing great.

Love meeting your beautiful child. How can she not be happy with an understanding Dad like you?
Got a kick out of the interview--

What stories do you find most interesting?

I don't know. Probably stories I haven't read before

LOLOL. Makes sense to me.

That's a darn good story for a seven-year-old to write. Did you help her out about oxygen tanks? A secret to keep, a decision made, and friendships made. A nice world where everyone helps each other. This must reflect the world Georgia lives in.

Strangely enough, the oxygen tanks threw me when she said it. I was expecting air, but then she does read a lot and watches things like 'octonaut' (seafaring animal thing!. lol
